Whereas in other country people are leaving cricket for other interst, in India people from all fields try to get a bite of cricket cake in someway or other.

maybe a good idea

its a good idea considering his difference with buchanan...conflicting personalities being head of the same team won't do any good. maybe wright could coach windies, he could unite the board with cricketers and maybe help windies regain lost glory...windies got talent but lack direction

Bring him back to India

John's contribution was greater than that of Gary. Gary got ready made team and polished it. John reconstructed the devastated Indian team after match-fixing scandal.

It is a good chance for BCCI to persuade John Wright to be the coach of India.

Yes. Once again. But getting Gary Kirsten back would be better.

I doubt if Gary will come back. During his tenure, India achieved more than what was expected. But yes, it will be a very good news if he can be coaxed to come back....

well - india played most of its test cricket at home and won series against australia, nz, eng, drew with SA - the only creditable one was the 1-1 away series in SA. After the world cup, we played in england and australia (post-kirsten) - and lost all eight tests - so being no.1 was a very hollow achievement unlike clive Lloyd, Steve waugh or ricky ponting

Ranjit, I was referring to Wright, not Kirsten.
Kirsten also did an equally good job after the drubbing in WC 2007. But Wright literally lifter Indian cricket from the dumps.

Yes absolutely thats a good decision to bring back John Wright. With
Fletcher around don't think Indian Team is making any progress. If John wright is brought back then the present team can atleast can be groomed to play sensible test cricket now that with no Dravid around and Laxman is not getting any younger either its time to groom Indian Test Team.
