Media seems to find excuses to glorify ST under any pretext. In this case Jonty is only an excuse. Jonty is wrong when he is relaxing fielding drills for ST, if ST is not fit let him move out. ST's arrogance and adamant nature is exposed when he hit out at critics after his 100 and repeatedly says HE will decide when to retire. BCCI has the prerogative to play the best team, they are not facilitators for individual feats. Genuine team players like Dravid didn't even mention ST in his farewell speech. The whole cricket fraternity seems to carry his weight and support him , i don't know why.

I agree that this obsession of media with sachin has lead to decline in team India performance.It is also hurting other games & sports.Can you recall Mukesh or Neets Ambani ever invited Abhinav the only Indian to have won a gold in individual sports in Olympics?This sums up the wrong priorities of our entrepreneurs & government.

The fault lies clearly with ignorant reporters , a government having ministers with vested interest in game & largely cricket crazy public.The apathy of media & public to Hockey,Tennis,Badminton & shooting where India has great record in past is appalling

First of all we need to understand that no media or businessman would sponsor any sports or take interest in it unless they there are greats in it and is backed by performance. People start taking interest it when they perform consistently and actively follow it, the media follows suit and business jump on to the bandwagon. Dude, you talk of hockey and football being ignored. Now where is the performance? Are they of international standards or do we have greats in it representing the country? First let them start performing and then everyone would sit up and take notice!

Public wants to watch other sports but vested interests in cricket which includes betting mafia influences the sports channels decisions on coverage. Cricket has made Indians lazy & practically a non entity in world of Sports.China is now number two economic & sporting power & it does not play cricket.I am also a cricket fan but want other sports to come up

You see friend, today from morning, morning I was wait for Sachin Tendulkar news and it have come only now. I requested Rediff to put the daily Sachin news an bit early of the day.
On today news we come to know Sachin finger are got hit. If anyone plays so many year at International cricket means what will happen? If Sachin finger should not got hit means then he have to take watchmen jobs of India team like Kumble do watchmen jobs of RCB.
Another options is to used Tendulkar only for batting and for fielding he can sit on the pavillions so that manoj tiwary, rahane, etc will fielded.
Another option is to used Tennis ball when Sachin Tendulkar is fielded so he can collect ball without hit.

Sachin is above all these things.. Bharat Ratna is politically driven.. Rajeev Gandhi got that at age of 41..Govt wont confer Sachin b4 that..he anyway is Ratna for India..leave aside political awards !!

It wud be national shame if he is awarded.. he is a guys who claimed to be an "Actor" to save few bucks.. U dont give BR to people who amass records....U r roght its politically motivated.. thats precisley why SRT will get it

but ppl have got taht..Like Lata Mangeeskar who never allowed any other talent to become famous due to her politics Or even Rajeev Gandhi amassed crore of rupees in swiss banks.. So thuis award is quite subjudiced..Sachin is far better than these :)

Just becos there are many underserving candidates doesnt mean we can cheapenthe award further by awrding him this award.. SRT at best is a very very talented batsman.. thats about it.. Not good enough for a BR

thats what... histrocially BR is not that prestigious award( looking at the list of awardees) .. Only exception as per my knowldge of awardess was APJ Kalam, whose is anyway much ahead from film and sports personalities. So if u are including film and sports... Sachin is by default a winner !!
"Sachin" & "Sehwag" are the most "Unfit" players in "Team India" & the way it is gng they are not "Bothered" abt "Fitness"!!! "Sachin" is there in the "Indian team" becoz of his "Passion" for "Test Runs" & "Centuries"......And if he is "Unfit" too.. then it is "Doubleblow" for "India"!!!! The bigger Picture is Out of 11 Players in the "Team" ,does any player "Compromise" Teams position for "Individual Gains".... Iam not talking abt 1 "innings" but infact in the last "10-15" yrs... It is very "Crystal Clear" to everybody that 'Sachins' is only "Playing" for "Records" in a "Team Sport"!!!! "Records" gives more "Happiness" to "Sachin" than "Winning".. Becoz "Winning" goes in to "Teams Account" & "Records" go in to "Individuals" Account!!!!!
