Rediff is running out of reporters. Why else are they publishing interviews and news of cricketers who are still struggling to establish themselves in the Indian team even after five years of debut? Lets Raina's speech and views be reserved for the current BCCI president and the chairman of the selection committee. Spare us please Rediff!! If you don't have anything worthwhile in cricket - try news from other sports. Anything else will be better than listening to the BCCI president and his ilk.

for another 2 months they can shoot their moouths off, since they are not answerable to the country .... he is just doing what he is paid to do.
Well with Sachin's 100th 100 is now on the back burner we are now concerned about the team's ability to bounce back.
There are several issues for both Tests and ODIs they are faced with from which they have to recover.
In Tests, the importance of a solid opening pair which gave India the starts they needed needs to be restored. Our bowling attack in Tests in India have not been the sharpest and struggled to bowl the West Indies out.
In Tests in India, the bowling attack had an injured Ishant against the WI and decided not to rest him with his injury. Ohja is a economical bowler and Ashwin likes to push it in the air quickly.
In ODIs, we also need to see if Sachin, Sehwag and Gambhir are not rotated to give us the solid starts we got in the last WC.
India exposed Vinay too much in the ODIs. I think Munaf, Nehra should have been mixed with Irfan, Vinay and Varun who is a bit economical compared to the pacy Yadav.
The situation with Praveen Kumar is still not clear as to why he is being persisted with Munaf, Nehra and several other better candidates are available.
The selection of Ashok Dinda in 1-dayers is again lead to another bowlers whose ER in 1-dayers will be above 6 plus in the sub-continent just like Ishant and Sreesanth
Indian team had a new coach Mr Fletcher.....and hence they lacked the bonding and planning that Gary Kirsten shared for World cup winning side. That side got Test number 1 when Kirsten was coach..so team took time to adjust with new coach.

write it down...he is never going to be a good 'test player'...he is ok in ODI and good for T20....he is not that material...who can do good in "Test matches"....he is almost another 'Yuvraj' (talent wise even lesser) type..that's it.

just look at Dhoni...he is essential in all form of cricket except 'test'. His batting skills, keeping...captaincy ...not a single aspect he fits for test matches...the only good thing is that...this 'facts' even he knows..
raina is now following azar. the best excuse is we did not play well. 2nd best we did not plan well, of course the best is our batsmen failed us. still better our bowlers did not bowl to the field. all thse and much more raina. where did your skill go. show at least 10% of dedication of what australians show in cricket. no captain has ever survived more than 5 years in India

Indian players are used to flat pitches where the ball does very little ...ie. does not swing alot or bounce alot or seam alot..and their lack of practice showed
