Greatest Indian cricketer
by Vipin Jain on Mar 28, 2012 12:25 PM  | Hide replies

Such a great cricketer that YOU WON'T FIND EVEN ONE PERSON (CRITIC OR PLAYER OR COMMON MAN) CRITICISING HIM.
He always played for the team & was ready to perform any role for sake of the team.
If, any cricketer is to be given BHARAT RATNA, then he deserves the most.

Mr Vipin, where were you all these years? In India every true hero is criticized for any reason, it may be... From Kapil Dev to Gavaskar to Ganguly to Dravid to Sachin to Dhoni... and soon it will be Kohli or other promising hero... People of this nation hate its heroes! Mr Rahul Dravid is no exception... Sad but very very true...

WHY ONLY SACHIN
by Shilpa Mehta on Mar 28, 2012 12:10 PM  | Hide replies

Why people are always after Sachin & critisize him ? I don't understand ??
He is great & legendary cricketer , no other can equal his class & records , though I respect all players .

1. When India lost due to bowlers failure in asia cup & Bangladesh chased 290 , people
critised Sachin for playing slow .

2. When twenty others players didn't attend Rahul's function , only Sachin is critised .

3. People are unnecessary asking Sachin to retire which is entirely his personal decision .
He's fit & scoring runs , why should
anyone ask him to retire ?? Do we have a replacement for Sachin ? Answer is - NO .
With expericened players in team at least we're winning at Home , see without them we'll loose in India also.

Lets not create too much hype on Sachin. Sachin's 100th 100 was quite slow which cost us the match and the Asia cup!!

Now talking of replacements this is an old adage!! When Gavaskar, Vishwanath, Kapil Dev, BS Chandrashekar ended their career the same was said. But a new breed of players came in, in the form of Sachin, Dravid, Kumble, Sreenath,Dhoni and now Kohli. So it does not matter if sachin retires!!
I am a great fan of Sachin but he is at the fag end of his career and let me retire when the going is good rather than get dropped!

Becoz he is selfish and played for his personal records. He should respect the country and other players who are far better than him.He should teach from Steve W,Shastri,Dravid not waiting to happen like Ponting.

I like your love for him but I too was his fan till recently but now I find him completely a changed man. He was kind, soft spoken and treating everyone with respect. But now you can see a changed man in him. He has become selfish, greedy and criticising his senior colleagues and even having arrogant attitude like I don't leave drop me if you can. He is very jealous of Dravid and felt bad because he retired as it would result in more pressure on him to retire. Sachin is changed and changed for not good. There are many talented cricketers to whom if opportunity is given at 16 years of AGE can create impressive records like him. We don't require a replacement exactly like him but we need a young one in his place.

u r right. we lost dat match bcoz sachin told our bowlers not to bowled in right area,he told fielders to misfield & drop catches,he told irfan pathan to bowl low fulltoss when they required more than 10 runs per over. How could u blame any batsman who score 100 & help his team to cross 290 mark? If our team lost after scoring nearly 300 runs, there are only 2 reasons for that,1st our bowlers did not bowled well & 2nd opposition batsman play better than us and for both reasons sachin or any other batsman could not be responsible.so think twice before making any statement on such a great player & a great human being.

Tendulkar Missing along with Kapil Dev
by Rahul Balan on Mar 28, 2012 11:00 AM  | Hide replies

Cricketing greats Sachin Tendulkar and Kapil Dev were the notable absentees at the felicitation event for Rahul Dravid here last night attended by a galaxy of former and current India cricketers, BCCI officials and other dignitaries.

Reports said, Sachin was present in Mumbai till Tuesday morning. He had attended Mukesh Ambani’s felicitation for him at Antilla on Monday night, but had to leave for London to attend a pre-scheduled event there.

Sachin and Rahul had the longest run together both on and off the field. It would have been apt for him to have attended this function, which was planned quite some time ago.

This felicitation was planned only 3-4 days ago; if you were regular on the news you would have known... and the reason Sachin went to London was the appointment with the doctor for his toe injury treatment which was preplanned - well in advance...

not sure if Kapil was invited. BCCI does not consider Kapil as a former great ever since he worked for ICL. Even his pension was stopped.
