Who so proudly last year said that, he is happy to leave the IPL for the country and will practise during that time to keep himself fit and going... A lot of people boasted about it... What happened now Mr Clarke?

He was so so proud of himself for he didnt play IPL... I think media should not ask him the question as to what happened to his patriotism that he is opting to play the IPL?
folks before buying a ticket for any ipl match remember the humiliations in england and australia in both odis and tests...... it was not too long back .......... so would u still watch the useless ipl which is the actual cause of those losses??? I will never watch it..............wbu??

Hey you are clearly saying Australia and England. I believe IPL is not played against those teams right? Then, why shouldn't we watch? If you love the game, you don't care who wins and who losses.

Being a politician is one of the characteristics of great leaders and world knows that Sourav is one of them. If his politics gells the team well and wins IPL for Pune. All is accepted and appreciated.
have always been a perennial source of greed-driven joy if only due to the immense 'market potential' the vast populations of these countries offer.
However, China has been quite a big dampener in the past 60 years owing to various reasons. First, it was the iron clad 'minimal import' policy followed by the Mao regime that thwarted the western corporates' greed. Then, the 'game' became the 'hunter' after China's market reforms and furious pace of industrialisation succeeded tremendously in flooding the world market with cheaper goods. And now, China has started to mature as a manufacturer of quality goods that increasingly can stand their own against well known brands in more and more items.
This knocks the joy completely out of the white man as regards China's huge population and the resultant huge market.
But, India has been quite different. In the days of the 'licence-permit raj' and plan-driven growth, the Indian market was largely unapproachable for the white corporates. However, with the advent of what is widely touted in India as 'market reforms', the deluge of bonuses for them has never paused !
One among the hundreds of bonuses that have come in such fashion is the 'liberalisation' of gold imports by the common Indian. The latter imagines that his govt. has done him a huge favour by allowing him to import gold without incurring the levels of duties that were prevalent. However, what is beyond his imagination is that the South African gold mining barons

have not stopped whooping with delight at the fact that a big 'sweaty teeming mass of humans in the east' considers gold a worthy investment and more hilariously as something that can actually improve their miserable appearance !
The latest among such sources of joy - albeit for a much smaller section of the whites - is the Indian commoner's uncritical, all consuming and fawning admiration for any type of cricket that features international players !!
For most white cricket players playing in the IPL, this thoughtless willingness of the Indian commoner to throw their money at them is something impossible to find in their own countries. However, why would they care if there is that 'sweaty teeming mass of humans in the Indian sub-continent' always willing to indulge them ??
IT IS IPL DHAMAKA TIME WITH MAD FANS & MEDIA GOING CRAZY! IF NOT FOR THESE FOREIGN PLAYERS, THE TOURNAMENT WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD DUCK! BUT STILL YOU CAN SEE THE EMPTY STANDS AND LOW TRP! HE HE

If there actually are empty stands or at least thinly packed stands for some of these matches, then it is a sure sign that the horribly vapid commercial purpose of the IPL has begun to get even to the hopelessly stuxpid Indian fan !!
