It was interesting Sachin chose the HH day celebrations press meet to coincide with another important TV event--another Marathi manoos, Anna Hazare one day fast at Jantar Manatar.English channels except HT of course chose to give a short shrift to Anna this time around were not giving the extensive coverage of the past.They right away went all out to Sacin's coverage.On the other hand Hindi channels and HT which were covering the old man's fast extensively also suddenly decided to change loyalty to Sachin.It was a temperory 'loss' of 'visibility' for Poor Anna. The contrast of ideas of the two TV events couldn't be greater.While the pennyless and saintly Anna was fighting for the cause of 'whistleblower'safety and eradication of corruption , the high voltage TV press meet saw the millionaire Sachin , a bundle of contradictions perpetuating himself and his importance in order to keep the flow of millions to his coffers uninterrupted.

hello there..with due respects the whole of the superpowers are now coming to india and begging ..since back home they are marred by recession and economic down turn..now in mumbai itself i can see more foreigners walking down the street..you have to deal with indians and you will deal with indians...
if sachin needs only money he will be rested home with ajay jadeja and azhruddin...no issues yet happens for the 23 years against sachin regarding match fixing...if he needs money only he can simply earn more than any players in the world....sachin is great he playing for his country
No point in saying that he is committed, he loves the game etc. I also love the game at 62 but is it proper to expect when age is catching up and reflexes are slowing. He should know that the great Gavaskar had said retire when people ask why and not when they ask why not.

This guy got to retire. He is selfish and has as been blocking the chances of youngsters. Has he not made enough money? Who is he to decide when to retire? The selection board to summon courgae and sack him. If still he wants to play, let him play in no 11th position. The selfish guy has been opening for long long time not giving opportunities to players like Raina who gets hardly 10 overs to play. Is the opening slot his birth right? Sqatting there and not allowing youngsters to face more overs is proof of his selfishness.

He has every right to decide when he wants to retire. The selection panel can drop him if they want, but they can't force him to retire.

Technically ur response is OK. We can't force him to retire. he can be dropped. Let the selectors do that. There is a groundswell opinion against Sachin continue to play. He had his good times. Now it is time for the young brigade to take over. The guy was hinting in a NDTV coloumn that the wants to play in 2015 world cup. Is that not too much? Before people start despising him he should quit. One should be sensitive enough to know when he is not wanted. This is true in entertainment business. Like stars who produce floap movies are discarded, there is no sure way in cricket to pinpoint the person responsible for failures, cricket being team game. But perceptions about Sachin in last 2-3 years are definitely not in his favour.

age is not a criteria for retirement...only performence is the criteria for retirement...then before sachin how many players has to retire...so dont blame sachin he still playing superb..just watch the first 2 test series agains australia..superb innings u just watch on youtube and tell me whether sachin should retire or not??
