Cricket is a game mostly played by malnourished third world countries such as India,Pakistan,Bangladesh and Srilanka.Ofcourse their colonial masters England and their erstwhile colonies Australia and West Indies also play.
England is good in Football and other olympic sports.So is Australia with their overall excellence in all sports including tennis,hockey,football,swimming,etc.
Third world nations are mostly governed by dynastic politics,their political leaders are corrupt to the core.They use cricket for diverting people's mind from major socio_politico_economic issues such as corruption,unemployment,poor infrastructure,etc.They also use cricket for match fixing and spending their leisure time.In malnourished nations politicians and paid media use bollywood movies and cricket as opiiums to divert people's mind from their day to day sufferings.Corporates use cricketers to sell their ToothPastes,Soaps,made in China packaged in India phones and UnderWears.Most corrupt politicians govern the cricket boards.
Cricket is a decaying game.First it was 5 days,then 1 day,then 20-20,10-10,next umpires will just come and toss and decide the winner.
Therefore,I feel,if media is really concerned about its people,it should not make a silly cricket news as top headline of the day.Instead,focus should be on how Indian players are preparing for the olympics which shows the real atheletism of our young generation at the global stage
