YES. VERY TRUE
by SRIDHAR RAGHUNATHARAO on Mar 18, 2012 12:10 PM

SRT has shown 100% commitment for his records sake and never for the team's success. See how he played for his 100th hundred up to scoring 100 and after scoring 100. All these are his big statements which only becomes a laughing stock for other cricket teams including Bangladesh. The real players who were 100% committed to the game are G R Vishwanath,Rahul Dravid, Kumble, Kapil, Yuvaraj Singh, Kohli and other such players. Their breed is different.

Really cant see a reason why people are gaga over sachin

Not debating the fact that Sachin is a batting maestro and holder of many records. But its very much non-graspable about Sachin's contribution in crucial knockout punch games. I cant remember a single instance where the chips were down and India was sliding to defeat when Sachin stepped in and turned things in India's favour. Sachin is defenitely not the kind of batsman whom I would have in the crease when say 85 runs needed off 70 balls and there is a do-or-die situation. I think the media is simply going ga-ga over him without any sense. His recent performances in Australia, England are things to be too ashamed of. Not sure how long there will be absolute senseless people exist in this forum as well as in this country who are blind over facts.

please dont criticize just like that... he is a batsmen and most of the time he contributes with bat... and cricket is a team game...Also listen to most of the cricketer's interview how he helps to them in dressing room and on the field... you are just a mere TV viewer and just passing baseless comments without understanding ground reality in ground...... Let us encourage him and enjoy the game.

don't wast your time on Sachin
by SMP on Mar 18, 2012 11:55 AM  | Hide replies

Guys....

Self is Very important... when self is not there you cannot think further......

When you contribute tor the team, some of the personal milestone too happening.. that is the life... The point is whether is he is able to contribute to the team or not ? yes he is... rest all comments are irrelevant in Sachin's case.

Manmohan sing probably be the prime minister for 10 years continuously after Nehru... He is not ruling for his personal gains to achieve 10 years.. similar way sachin's personal gains also happening!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tell me one instance where his hundred has helped the team win. Don't go by stats on CricInfo. What is forgotten in those stats is that on many of those occasions, RD or someone else also made a hundred which was in a more critical situation. Case in point is Headingly in the 2002 test series with Eng where Ind won. If RD and SanjayBangar had not seen off the Eng quicks in swinging/ seaming conditions, SRT would never have been able to make his hundred. RD got man of the match in that game though his score was lower than SRT's.

100% committment to be selfish
by sachin on Mar 18, 2012 11:30 AM  | Hide replies

in ODIs he willingly choses to open & refuses to come down the order. Why ?

This affords him the opportunity to play maximum overs to score.

In Test he refuses to open. Why ?

Coz . bowlers are at their cunnung best, try to extract the best from the track & don't focus on curtailment but trying to get the batsman out with no field restrictions. By the time he comes at no.4 , bowlers are either tired or pace of the wickets has been gauged . This enables him to play w o pressure & score runs.

Contrast this with only one recent example.

W C final , Gambhir on 97 , india still not out of woods. Gambhir still goes for the shot & gets bowled. We can imagine what would have happened , if SRT was at the other end( which thankfully he was not ). Probably We would not have felt ashamed if Bangla beat us.

W C holders were beaten by Bangla. Reason - the most selfish cricketer in the world.

BrianLara and SRT are the main culprits in theDescent of theirRespectiveTeams into very poor test teams, despite the presence of other team players (ShivnarineChanderpaul in WI and RD, VVS etc in Ind). These two worthies who are both superb talents have misused the talent to played only for themselves and not care about teamRequirements

Going on and on about how great he is. See the difference between how he talks and how RD talks. You will see the difference. His PRAgents are very busy keeping him in the news, to the extent that people forgot the fact that TeamIndia got thrashed byBongladesh in the same game where SRT played slow and prevented TeamIndia from getting 300 , just to get to his record. GreedyOldMan hanging onto chair- reminds me exactly of SharadPawar, who I am sure is his PoliticalGuru

"Selectors" should Decide "Retirement".
by RAKESH NAIR on Mar 18, 2012 11:18 AM

"Sachin" is playing for the "Nation" & not for his "Family" to decide on "himself" when to "Retire" or "Dropped".
Only "God" Knows how "India" is listening to these "Statements" on "Retirement"!!!
When "Ponting" was asked abt his "Retirement" ,he said its "Selectors" Job that is "Sportsmanship".
"Sachin" is "crossing" all the boundaries to be in "Record" Books!!!
But having said this in "India" we always have a Weak man (Srikant)at the Top post with "Decisions" made somewhere else(Corporate BCCI).
Also in this case both "Corporate BCCI" & "Opportunistic Corporate Media" are "Helpless".
"God" save "Indian Cricket".
