MR VEERAN
My poem dedicated to Sachin
by MR VEERAN on Mar 17, 2012 02:58 PM  | Hide replies

Such an Indian yet to be born
Always bowlers see the ball is torn
Congratulations Cricket’s Don
Hats off to your feat
Indians today enjoy your treat
Nation, nay the whole world rises to greet

The Hundredth Ton – when it became a question mark
Everywhere we could hear only remark
Now you have reached this landmark
Down under you batted like a thunder
Ultimately the milestone came and surrender
Laugh you had it last - At last
King of Cricket you have broken the fast
Almost all records have been broken
Retirement decision has to be taken.

on the tour to South Africa in 2010-11, Tendulkar scored hundreds
by vikas trivedi on Mar 17, 2012 02:53 PM  | Hide replies

.. in two out of three Tests, but India won the game in which he didn't score one.
In the 2011 World Cup that followed, India tied and lost the two matches in which he scored hundreds.

And then, of course, there was the 100th hundred itself, which resulted in India's first ODI defeat against Bangladesh in five years.

That means none of Tendulkar's last five international hundreds have resulted in victories

Sachin’s Debatable performance
by gautam ganguly on Mar 17, 2012 02:53 PM  | Hide replies

As a proud countryman, we feel proud that at long last, Sachin has achieved the dream of scoring the 100th 100. Notwithstanding Sachin’s great performance all through his life, It must be said that the last one year has been pathetic for him and his countless admirers. If we objectively analyze his performance in the last world cup, we find only the shadow of the great Sachin. Remember his painstaking innings against Pakistan? It was the consistent great batting performance of the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Kohli, Gambhir and Raina that helped India to achieve the feat. Who can forget the great innings played by Yuvraj and Raina against Australia in the last world cup?
Had the hundred come against Australia or England , we would have been happier. Unfortunately Sachin’s 100th 100 against Bangladesh may be described that we have sacrificed the cause of the country at the altar of Sachin’s personal performance. At least 15 precious runs were lost by the team due to his century which proved vital .

Yes the innings was painstaking, he was not playing well, but still held the team together, otherwise India would have fallen apart in the semis. As for the World Cup, his game tapered off in the semis and finals but till then he was in good touch. Agreed, a century against Australia or England would have been sweeter. Gambhir and Yuvraj played a big hand in the World Cup, but Kohli was'nt so successful except for 1 century. He was on the slower side in the match against Bangladesh, but it was Irfan Pathan who lost the match for India.

Good one deepak, eighty percent of Sachin's 100 centuries are agsinst top cricket nations&not against bangla desh or kenya! there are desi jealous cats too like kapil dev, bhishen bedi, saurab gangulu, gavaskrr, manjrekar, etc, etc,Shame there are so many jealous isi agents posting messages in fake hindu names, and trying their best to malign Sachin, the Great! In Bradman's time, there were only useless bowlers who were bowling at a speed of less 60 km per hour and hence NO comparison can be made with great Sachin since in Sachin's time bowlers are bowling at 140 km and above, Get a life and get a reality check, folks!where is the comparsion between bradman&sachin, it is crooked westerners&their agents who want to show their superioriy who shout that Bradman is greatest and all the garbage! What a Shame!
