My salute to Dravid:
by mathew varghese on Mar 11, 2012 11:08 AM

Its a great honour to salute one of the greatest batsman and ambassador of the game. Though its sad that we may not see him play, its very difficult to forget him for all the greatness he has brought into the game with politeness but with utter hard work.. have a nice retired life Rahul.. the nation is very proud of you.

He Should Not Have Retired.

Rahul Dravid should not have retired. It was Just Only ONE tour ((Australia )) that he could not score as per expectations of the Fans.

He was excellent in West Indies and also in England. He could have waited a little more. Any way I respect his decision. We will certainly Miss him. I rate him ahead of Tendulkar.

Gavashkar greatest cricketer in India? haha..

He was a great test bastman.. ODI below avg.. and when we talk greatest cricketer in India.. There is no doubt.. its Kapil Dev..followed by Sachin..after then rest follows..infact i will rate Dravid much ahead than Gavashkar when i say cricketer..cause ur over all performance will cout in all the formats u ve played.. Gavashkar does nt even stand in top 50 ODI players in India.. forget great

CRICKET means TEST CRICKET. All other version is not at all real cricket, may be more excitement is there but only excitement is not CRICKET.
Of course both are batsman not bowler.
But my caption is TWO GREATEST IN INDIAN CRICKET not Cricketer

gavaskar is truly the all time great, just tell me one thing:sir don bradman had never played ODI but everybody consider him as the greatest batsman,so test cricket is the only place to show ur talent and both gavaskar and dravid are per exellence

the wall
by Saina on Mar 11, 2012 08:06 AM

Rahul Dravid was actually the wall of Indian batting, especially test cricket. It will be tough for the team to find his replacement. He played every roll assigned to him with great his talent, whether it was as a batsman, fielder or wicket keeper... Great player...well done...

ANALYSIS
by madanmohan siddhanthi on Mar 10, 2012 07:49 PM

every time we see the ranking - it is a view and we leave it ast that. When we really see the palyer ,vis - a,cis his team members ,their reliability ,consistency ,the feilding rating and finally the bowlers .How often we find great batsman getting in to situation where the bowlers have given tons of runs and the team is in back foot from ball one . All these fators are difficult even for computer to difficult to evalaute . We had a wonderful batting line up - with Shewag , Tendulakar , Saurav ,Laxman when they do well it is great .They have been resonably consistent except in the last series .We had a great failure of openers for a long time - then got stabilised some what with Gautam . Dravid many times had come in the first few overs and had held one end up .The last series in Austalia is disastrou for Shewag , Gautam ,Dravid , Tandulkar ,laxman all have failed consistenly - no team can ever expect to give a reasonable performance if 5 batsmen fail every time . Coming to bowlers - Harbhajan was dropped and new horse was put in the feild - Aswin - who is novice as far foreign conditions are concerned - he had a poor series .Although many may forgive for his lack of experience .This is where the intelligence of the selectors ,management comes which is Zero .Finally the captain was never innovative - he tried the same all the time even under sisastrous results .we say when you do the same things you get the same results . Dravid was the best in the last two decades .
