Re: dravid

Dravid is great and I salute his greatness. To say he had a great 2011 and he retired in 2012 is not a fair statement. He had a miserable 2010, came back to do well in 2011 and again had a bad 2012 so far.
So he is retiring while Sachin had an awesome 2010, better 2011 and a bad start to 2012 so far, while people are gunning for his retirement.
and sachin better than dravid. but look at aus cricketer they are contributing so much to their country but not getting even 10% of salary of indian cricketer. sachin, ganguly and dravid make record because of quota system. they got chance to be in team for so long because of political pressure. look ponting they immediately sack him because of poor performance. if anyone do same to sachin then all politician will do strike

hello ponting's performance was poor for about a year tats why he was sacked....he should be sacked well before....but sachin had only two bad tours...that too poor only to his standards....

if in india any one would have scored a double century and a century in the same series as ponting did..his place get permanent for next 5 series..and here we r waiting for 100 ton for last one year..same we have seen when kapil dev was suppose to break headley record..one thing is sure, sachin wont be dropped or retired till 100 th ton is over..

do u know ponting plays well only in australia....his avg is very high in aus....pls refer stats.....previous sa tour and also even against NZ ponting was useless...only indian hopeless bowling helped ponting to regain his form....
rahul dravid got sucess and now we should stop talking so much. everyday I only read news about him... why? rahul dravid only play for himself and fill his pocket. cricket is not olympic sport and also not national sport. please media too much is too much

Hey man..Do you know anything about Cricket ? If Rahul Dravid only plays for himself then what would you call Sachin ?

I think there are lots of issues to be given importance than these cricketers and cine actors baby birth.

You are right. IPS and IAS Officers are being killed by the Mining and Sand Lobbies like the cutting of vegetables and no media analyses the same. But, for the cricketers and the cine stars it goes overboard. Take for example the reviews of films as well as the amount of time allotted to the cricket.

ok u guys have been raising the issue that sachin played for himself for a long time....give me one example where sachin played for himself.......iam sure that in all matches where sachin's ton went in vain is due to poor indian batting performance not sachin's fault....cricket is not individual contribution but team game...if sachin played for himself then all his runs shouldn't have been considered for india....we indians are great in pulling legs rather than appreciating great works....tats the reason india still a developing country....

I think Sachin's contribution to the team is far less than others;whether be it Laxman or Dravid..We kept praising him for his individual milestones..that's where Australia went ahead of us by giving importance to the team.

of 51 tons of sachin test..not even 5 tons are match winning..india's two biggest match winner are dravid and vvs laxman...

yes iam sachin fan but due to that i wont hide facts.....i mentioned only the significance of sachin's contribution to indian cricket not regarding media publicity...tats different issue...
sorry to say, dravid looks more dignified then sachin at this stage of retirement. he never played for himself as dose sachin, he never slows down at 100 as dose sachin..best of luck Mr Dravid

Hard to Understand!
Shitij,
If Western newspapers don't praise a good Indian achiever, bums like you say that they are jealous! And if they do praise, again bums like you say "who cares?" What exactly do you expect? There can be only two positions for these newspapers: either praise a genuine achiever, or just don't care! The fact that a Western newspaper (or any newspaper for that matter) went out of the way to heap genuine praise on an Indian should be a matter of pride. Obviously, bums like you can't distinguish genuine praise from disingenuous claptrap! Get a life, loser!

The fact that he is the first non aussie to do so underlines the fact that he has earned the respect of even them, which no other cricketer has managed to acquire. Is'nt that a real testimony to his achievements?
May whatever come, take this earth, the moon, and the sun...you still stay above all...
If the world thinks you are retired...we say you have just started a new innings...that would last forever...we will cherish your passion for cricket, your crazyness for cricket..and your madness for cricket...ever...forever...
Please accept a head-raised salute from the people of Bangalore, and around the world...
