Wishing you happy healthy and peaceful retired life. Congrtulation on taking right decision on right time.It is always better that people ask why and whynot.Even great Vijay Mearchant also thought the same thing and retired.Nothing is permenant except change. This is nature's rule. However we will miss you and in real sences Indian cricket is poorer with your exit.A big thank you for entertaining us for last 16 years. You will be always remember as Indian cricket WALL as long as cricket will be played Wishing you all the best
His selflessness came to fore from just two incidents. One, when he was batting on 99 in a one-day match against pakistan in pakistan in 2004, he went for a huge heave over on-side and lost his middle stump. Any other indian player would have pushed for a single and got hundred and raised bat and then go for shots. But dravid being selfless didn't think about his personal score. The second incident is that which became controversial when he declared indian innings in that same pakistan tour when sachin was batting on 194. He declared when he had decided to and didn't see which batsman is on what score? There are several such incidents showing his selflessness. When selectors and greg chappel threw out ganguly from captaincy, Dravid agreed to lead the side and saved india from a disaster
End of an ERA.I salute to a great sportsman and classic cricketer and fine gentleman of Indian cricket. We miss you on the field THE GREAT INDIAN WALL!!!. Wish you best of luck for your future......
A player's greatness is often know by the statistics he produces. Sometimes by a few memorable matches he has played.
But in a game like cricket, in which we watch players for hours, sometimes days together, it's mostly about the visual spectacle than about statistics.
In that respect, if Sachin's style is prose, Rahul's elegance is just poetry with the bat. That is what I will mostly remember Rahul for. If I can say safely, Rahul is the most elegant, stylish batsman India has ever produced. His off-side cover drives are just a visual delight, that I can keep watching for hours together.
Every poem ends with a full-stop, and so does Rahul's batting with his retirement. But the pleasant effects it creates in you will last forever!
Rahul Dravid is the rear wall of Indian cricket he save many matches to India. His special knock against the Austarila when he & Laxman made good partnship in Kolkata & India win the match. When Austrila give to follow-on to India. My Best Wishes to Raul Dravid for his future.
