Sachin

The selectors are all former players who know when a batsman is out of form or done when they see it.
Sachin in Australia looked the most confident batsman apart from kohli towards the end.

If you compare other greats who have scratched around when the time is up, Sachin is nowhere making a mockery of the standards he has set.

Kapil dev during his final days was taking the wicket of tailenders. To assist him, Kumble used to bowl all 6 deliveries outside the off stump so that batsman does not get out.
Then Kapil would come and bowl slower than kumble stratight at the batsman and try to get him lbw or bowled.

As a batsman, there is nowhere to hide. If you scratch around you would be thrown out of the team.

Sachin has not yet reached that stage and hope he does not.

This is not a government job where you have to retires at 58. If he is better than any player playing at that position then he can play.
If not, then throw him out

If you are calculating greatness by Centuries and the Ratio of Centuries and the Matches Played, You will struggle to find out some name to compare with him other than Don. And please dont come with some players, who just played less than 100 Matches in ODIs.

If anyone talks about followers , then Sachin has the most in the country and many parts of the world. The selectors cannot ask Sachin to retire, because Sachin knows his capacity and also when he has to retire.Another thing abot Sachin is his personality which reflects on the entire team, entire Board and fans.I feel there will be large-scale resentment if Sachin retires prematurely.

playing it with dignity
by RAJENDRA SANDHU on Mar 10, 2012 08:21 AM  | Hide replies

I feel all the seniors should have taken retirement immediately after Winning World cup.. that is called self respect.. enough money they earned and in place of honking like Saurabh Ganguli "Still lot of cricket is left in me" Take rest and guide young generation to take it forward... when you start failing series after series and media put pressure then retiring is more painful than voluntarily retiring.. We admire Dravid for his gentleness, his wall characteristics.. wish you all the best Dravid, don't join Politics as that is a dirty game, they encash on ur image and leave you to rotten.

Hey dumb guy, ganguly retired on a high, and 4 years ago. He said : lot of cricket left in me, and yet retired(his avg on his second stint was 62.47), unlike 'someone' who would have been dropped had he not retired. I rest my case.

As a lier you have to rest your case as there are no more evidence left with you.

Ganguly was litrally kicked out of the Inidan team. He had no other option .... but to just GET OUT.

In Ganguly's Time, India Never Got beaten by 8-0. Frankly it was not Just bcoz of him. And this 8-0 also not just bcoz of Dravid. Everybody know very well, how Ganguly was treated in his last stage and also How dravid became captain. So lets forget that issue. And you wouldn't had brought Ganguly in this Article. Anyway There is not much drop happened in Dravid's Self Respect. Failing in Just one Series not going to affect Dravid's Self Respect.

Same like Dhoni Dravid Tried maximum to remain not out by Avoiding Risky Shots? (I Just asked here to know, how to play for records? Feels very Much sorry to Bring Dhoni and Dravid Here)

It will not make you any harm to respect to own Country Players, Not Just own State Players.

dravid best team man.
by vinay on Mar 09, 2012 09:57 PM

dravid never ever said no to anything. he was asked to open the innings in tests, made to go for any position in batting order, even asked to take gloves n keep the wkts. he was the best batsman to b relied upon in the worst situations. he never said no. he was a perfect team man.
unlike sachin who always wants to open in odi n at no.4 in tests irrespective of team requirements.
