end of era
by Saurav Singh on Mar 09, 2012 09:32 AM  | Hide replies

One of the finest test batsman that INDIA have produced is Leaving International cricket.
It is such a shame that he is pressured to leave like this. It shows how much politics is in team. Dhoni Leading the charge of getting older players(That he consider threatening to his position) out of team. Dravid Who was top scorer in Test cricket in 2011.He was best Indian player in England where every body failed and yet forced to quit. because of the politics. Right now dhoni feels he is Unshakable but his deeds will come in front of him some day.
Dhoni(Indian capt.)[Chennai superking capt.]
Shrikant(chief Selector) [Chennai superkings coach]
Shrinivasan(BCCI presiden)[Owner of chennai super kings]
Now having such powerful backing he have become drunk with power that wrecked india team. So if we want to save Team india we must clip the wings of Dhoni.I don't mean to throw him out of team as he is excellent player but put him to his right place.

Rahul should not retire right now
by Manoj Dubey on Mar 09, 2012 09:31 AM

I think Rahul Dravid should stay at least 1-2 years. Still he has a lot to offer. He should not go for retirement because of media & Indian Spectators. He is still better than Sachin & VVS. I salute him. He should rethink on his retiement.

Right decision
by paper india on Mar 09, 2012 09:25 AM  | Hide replies

I think it is a timely decision on Dravid's part. Rather than being dropped in favour of the younger lot knocking at the door, he took the dignified step of stepping aside and making way. Tendulkar, Dravid and Lakshman can be replaced by Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Yuvraj/Raina. Given the exposure and oppurtunity these guys may prove themselves in the long run.

excuse me sir. Raina and yuvraj have been given many opportunities and were found wanting in technique to adapt to test cricket. With the exception of Kohli, I dont see any potential replacement for the senior trio. With the best interests of Indian cricket, I feel Laxman should also retire, but Sachin may play for another 1 yr.

Dravid

A great and dedicated warrior of Indian cricket is due to retire today. It will be very difficult to find another dependable number 3 batsman. May be Gatham gambjr can fit in that role provided we can find two good openers. Or we can groom Virat Kohli for that slot.
