Team India makes a quiet return
by Santosh Ghirnikar on Mar 06, 2012 05:07 AM

What else can we expect? We were thrashed without lubrication and didn't put up any fight. There is no dishonor in losing, it is in the manner in which we lost that is giving heartburn to fans

Quiet Return
by Santa on Mar 05, 2012 10:50 AM

Our cricketers need not worry much. Most of our countrymen (and women) have a very short-lived memory. We have already started watching IPL ads, on TV channels. Everybody is gearing up for purchasing IPL tickets so that our paper tigers can enjoy with gir1s during post-match late night parties.

BCCI WAKE UP AT LEAST NOW
by SRIDHAR RAGHUNATHARAO on Mar 05, 2012 10:20 AM

Please see the following analysis in today's " The Hindu" titled " We did not deserve to be in Finals.
1. We finished with the lowest batting average of 28.01 and highest bowling average of 38.94
2. It's not a coincidence that our best batting rate is at Adelaide and Hobart. These are batsman friendly.
3. Our batting capability is ruthlessly exposed at SCG or MCG. Our batting is simply ripped apart by their home pacemen.
4. The top batting average of 53.28 by Kohli is seconded by Gambhir at 44. But Gambhir's performance was only at Adelaide and Hobart and not in other pitches.
4. Only Dhoni with an average of 51.25 has performed well in all our three batting collapses against Australia. He is our potential match finisher.
5. The most vitally important for our domestic cricket to set up competition is to prepare right tracks. Otherwise, any success away from our sub-continent will be bleak.
Our Selectors should at least now wake up and revamp our team for Asia Cup without having to elaborate on the need of omission of SRT and others, and giving chance to promising youngsters.
Let Asia Cup does not end with another humiliation and laughing Stock for Team India
