He should bring his determination back
by anand datar on Mar 04, 2012 06:31 PM  | Hide replies

He will be able to achieve 100th ton if he brings his old determination back. Relax Sachin. See your old videos. Get inspiration and you will be able to get it !!

i think his determnation to get is 100th ton is strongest now that is why he is still hanging around no matter whether the country loose or win....this tenor will overshadow all his previous feats

What is his incentive? He makes enough money as it is. Let someone else take his place. We are a nation of .....how many crores?

See even Australian board allowed Alan Border to overtake Gavaskar's record of most Test runs scored by any player ! Who doesn't want the star player of their country to hold any record ? Of course that time they didn't realize that his record also will be broken by someone ! Now Sachin is trying to make 100th ton and become the first to do so and BCCI is helping him ! Why not ? He is the most deserving player ! They are helping him not for nothing !! He has the ability ! Barring Virat every player failed in Australia ! Is there any player who deserves to replace him ?

Tendulkar

Well he is no Bradman for sure. Sir Donald Bradman retired rather than try to achieve an average of 100 runs at bat.

Bradman did not extend his playing career either. The question here is what is Tendulkar playing for now? Money he has plenty of. Helping India he is not. So what is his motive? He has nothing better to do?

statistically for this year also if you can find him below 4 in team, he should leave but thats not the case

Today's players are doing no better at playing today's schedule. The point to be made is that the Player's have no sense of self restraint. Everyone knows that they are in this for the money. If they were genuinely interested in giving their best they would make time for rest and recuperation for their families for social causes for helping young players. Featuring in Advertisements is a waste of time and energy. All working people manage their schedules in spite of being very busy. Why not Cricket Players?

Do you know anything about those old days ? Bradman boarded the ship to England to 1948 when he was 40 years old and played his last test series there. If he wanted to make his average 100, he would probably have to wait 1-2 years before he got a chance to play against another team as the tours were very scarce those days. By that time, he would have been 42 years old. Hence, he never played any test after his last test 0. So don't cricize Sachin just for the heck of it.

I am with you, you are right statistically it has been proved that Sachin was betten than Bradman. Imagine an average of 50 even after playing 300 games its incredible

What you have written is not logical. If the players were playing much less they could easily keep playing longer. Bradman had no need to exert himself unduly and could have easily waited two three or even five years! How old is Warne now? When did he play last?

Nirpinder:

Simply by playing more, Bradman couldn't have achieved an average of 100 anyway...
In fact his average was already 100, but it came down becoz he played that last innings and scored a Zero..
Any further playing would have brought his average down even further... Agree?

Nirpinder Singh:

If Bradman wanted to reach average of 100, he'd have had to score a century in his next match...
He didn't think he could... so he retired..
Simple!!

Chappel is pointing out the reason one should play for the Team not self. This is something that all Indian Cricketers need to think about.

The Coach does not go out to play. It is the Player's who have to use their Brains. No one has ever faulted India for potential. So what is lacking? Motivation?

Don't know why but whenever chapells talk, talk really sense. i mean, that hurts indians. but thats what reality is. sachin has lost a chance to be the greatest ever by not retiring after WC win which he said was a dream for himself. now he is just great. in fact foreign media never put him in the ranks of Waugh bros., kallis, lara or richards etc.

Going by records SRT is the greatest! But other greats who played the game went their way without much ado like Sobers, Richards, Lara, Gilly, Ricky. Why so much emotions now? We need to win matches like our little neighbour who whupped us. And they too had some greats who are history. Team is bigger than personal records. It should be a team effort.
