Look, who's commenting on a team that won a World Cup after 28 long years recently?

It's not 136, it's not 360, you read it right. He scored a mere 36 runs and remained not out.

so what my dear, it was in the year 1975 when no one knows what is limited over cricket. But the same gavaskar made amends by scoring a fifty faster than Srikkanth during the 1987 worldcup match against Newzealand.
And his knock of 221 against England in just the final day against the bowling of Willis, Botham, underwood, lever and hendricks... its worth the weight in Gold. I can bet no Indian in the current team can match that effort under the kind of pressure that India was during the 1980 test match at oval.

There is no one like Gavaskar yet in the indian team.. period.

i really dont get even a single point to justify his inclusion in the team..i think we are talking about indian cricket and there are hundreds of talented players waiting in the bench...how many chances will this player get? has he ever played a match winning knock (may be 1 out of 20)...can gavaskar open his mouth about this, if he is really interested in talking about indian cricket..rather than talking about poor yadav and ishant?

Can anyone forget his 700 runs in his debut test series against Windies in their country against their fearsome fast bowlers?
He actually taught india how to play fast bowlers on foreign pitches?

His 36 not out in 60 overs is the slowest ever innings by any batsman as of date. Only one batsman could have broken this record..it's none other than Ravi Shastri. But he too failed in it.

Now the great entertainers of the modern day cricket - sehwag, sachin, yusuf, gambhir etc.. look what they have done against england and Australia. Had gavaskar been around we would have drawn 50% of the matches and perhaps won the rest.

There is something called technique which no one in Indian team seem to possess at this time.

You should be seriously out of ur mind!!
Kohli & Gambhir have played well. For that matter, even Sachin & Dhoni have done well, but very rarely.
Sehwag-->YES. He needs to go!
Raina -->Deserves a few more chances.
Rohit-->He should have been given atleast 1 chance during the tests to have a feel of the opposition. So, cannot blame him entirely....
Zaheer--> Well, this is funny.... Zaheer has captured 15 wickets in the Aus tests, whereas Yadav captured 14. You want Zaheer to retire?? Are u happy with Ishant Sharma who took 4 wickets for 424 runs in this series??
