A GOOD WIN FOR INDIA
by damodaran mohan on Jul 30, 2012 04:36 PM

It was a good win , a positive win in the sense that unlike the first win which was more due to the initial luck.In this match India played better cricket with virtually every one chipping in and even if they had lost it would not have mattered.Yes, bowling death overs or otherwise still to be sharper and accurate which looks wayward. One positive is Zaheer was far better as compared to the first game . Irfan Pathan also needs to be more accurate although it is heartening to see him come good with the bat. This match would give him gain in confidence as an all-rounder in the come back trail.Raina played a match winner innings after a long time and should help him regain his old form.Gambhir's beautifully controlled innings of authority of course laid the foundation for the win although he missed make it 'Large'.Dhoni promoting himself also paid off but now that Sanghakara is 'out' his job appears to have become much easier.

Missing deadly bowlers in ODI format
by lee on Jul 29, 2012 01:33 PM

Since some years in ODI format, fast bowlers do not impact or threaten the batsmen anymore as it used to be earlier when Akram, Imran Khan, Marshall, Donald used to bowl. Now a days any batsman in the last 10 overs try to hit and do it successfully. It has become much a thwart game and not a duel anymore. Ofcourse many want to see shots, but at the same time you need to see sppedy balls crushing the chins and stumps too - thats cricket at best then. Well for India - to produce such bowlers is impossible but they have batsmen who can challenge any bowlers in the world.

Gambhir's 11th ODI century may have been in vain had Raina not
by mohammad mukhtar on Jul 29, 2012 12:40 PM

This is not fair then it can also be stated that Rainas stubborn knock may have been in vain if Gautam has not come up with the century dont try to underplay peoples efforts

Selection commitee should kick Dhoni out if he does not value publicopinion for sackin g rohit who has miserably failed &still being persisted. Is it not politics? Why Manoj Tiwari has been taken if he is not going to be given a chance? We arre disgusted wit Dhoni who has become arrogant now a days.

So shall we conduct elections in India to select a team. Who are we to decide the team composition? Dhoni has a job and he knows how to do it..

RAINA - THE Unfortunate Hero
by Husein Danawala on Jul 29, 2012 11:49 AM  | Hide replies

Coming at no. 5 or 6 and scoring most valuable knocks in every tounament. He has been the most consistent however it is very unfortunate that he is always left with figures less than 50s and hence not accounted for. He is the most suited player for late middle overs and to catch up with the asking rate. His odd 30s and 40s have been always more valuable than Sehwags quickfire 10s and 15s.

Pathetic bowlers from both the side.. Not a single bowler can command respect.. All are trashed like nine pins..Not one bowler even 50% of Glen Mcgrath or Akram or Donald

Guys, please.
When the same guy plays well in other games you call him the future of Indian batting.

Don't mess up please. He can be given a break if there is a current problem with his form or otherwise. He is very talented and India needs such batsman who can be developed in future.

There is no need of thinking harsh of him now.

Sack the selectors
by cedric on Jul 29, 2012 10:52 AM  | Hide replies

India had the match in their pocket when the 1st ball was bowled but almost let it slip out of their hands. Bowlers and Batsmen are not to be blamed the selectors need to be KICKED out. Y R they still persisting with Shewag and Rohit - certainly they must be banking on the law of averages. It would be better to loose with new comers rather than be humilated with the performance of so called great perofrmers

Sack the selectors
by cedric on Jul 29, 2012 10:48 AM

True India won the match - thanks to Raina, Kholi and Dhoni. India had the match in their pocket from the 1st ball but threw it away. No blame on the batsmen or bowlers, the selectors have to be blamed. Dont understand why they are persisting with Shewag and Rohit Sharma - certainly they are hoping the law of averages will work. As far as the bowlers are concerned with the exception of Zaheer and Ashwin the rest did not have any killer instincts. It would be better to loose with new comers rather than have failures.
