Pitch, not rash shots caused batting collapse: Dhoni
by Ramesh Sundaram on Jul 25, 2012 02:49 PM

Dear Mr. Dhoni,

You and your team should not be expecting batsmen friendly tracks at all times, with your win in mind.

Your opponents also played on the same track. While they nearly made the 300 score in the first match, you could not last even 35 overs in the second, while they scored the target in less than 20 overs.

At this level of playing, the team should be able to adapt itself to all playing conditions and get on with the game. What use is blaming the pitch ?

DHONI TALKS LIKE MOST INEXPERIENCED CAPTAIN
by subrata banerjee on Jul 25, 2012 02:35 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni's statement is horrible. He claimed that pitch was not suitable for batsmen and for this the whole Indian team crumbled with 138 on their score board. But on the same wicket, Srilanka's batsmen hammared our pace, spin bowlers to clear their 138 target well before 20 overs. It has been told that Dhoni may be captain of India but possess little knowledge in cricket. Only lady luck is not suffice. Dhoni's batting, wicket keeping has been detoriating like club level and I fail to understand what is the source of strength behind Dhone for whom BCCI is time and again commiting the same crime by selecting dhoni as captain. We have many good cricket players with a strong maturity to read the game. There are Gambhir, Kohli, and even vetaren Shewabag who can do better at least than dhoni.

DHONI has shown signs of madness due to OVER-populism
by Arvind KS on Jul 25, 2012 02:31 PM

DHONI has shown signs of madness due to OVER-populism.

I think Dhoni has not been in the same league of Kapil, Sunil or Sachin or Rahul or Saurav.

He has done his job mainly due to his instinct and a freshness in approach being coming from an alien background and non-populist methodologies.

However, now he is living an out of shelf life span. His comments are errratic and senseless and his approach smack favoritism and bias.

Dhoni is no longer a visionary now, and mostly trying to play win-win weith BCCI and big corporate hosues to secure a future for himself.

For the people, with brainless admiration, he can still be their hero.

by Santhanam on Jul 25, 2012 02:30 PM

This fellow 'Dhoni' is a joke. Hope Gambhir gets elevated to Captaincy soon. Atleast he wuld speak some sense unlike this fellow 'Dhoni' whose words never carry sense.

Hi Abhay,
They were learning how to play fast and moving deliveries in England.... They were learning swinging and bouncing deliveries in Australia... They were learning flat pitch cricket in IPL... Now they are learning how to play cricket in conditions were there is wind and slowness of pitch.... They will continue to learn... You know, there is no age for learning. When you stop learning actually you become old..

Dhoni and Boys, Keep learning.

Happy learning.

P.S: Not sure when will you qualify to teach, though???
