And finally the showdown begins!!!!
by Santhanam on Jul 23, 2012 11:39 AM

Finally the familiar conditions for Indians & the Cricket scene is alive again - The Indian Powerhouse is back on show & the Indian bats are firing. The most promising player at Present in the Cricketing world - Virat Kohli has showed again that he is the future of Indian Cricket & his batting talent is undebatable. And it will only get better from here. BTW - If we switch to other Continent & the Cricket happening there - Why have England prepared a low slow wicket when the South Africans are visiting? The so-called Bouncy wickets are only meant for the teams from the sub continent, is it?? They wont dare to prepare such wickets for South Africa with the likes of Dale Steyn in their line-up. Can't wait till this Winter for that eagerly awaited series in the sub continent. England who cant play SPIN even in their Dreams better be prepared for a 4-0 humiliating white-wash from Indians who are ofcourse Lions in their home conditions.

well donr virat, you deserve it. it has been a pleasure watching you bat over the last year and a half.

In other unrelated news, graeme smith declared SA's innings with Kallis on 182. Kallis never complained. Tendulkar is shocked at this development and plans to have talks with kallis to educate him on how to create a big fuss out of this.

Wonder why people compare anything and everything to Tendu or Dhoni or anybody. Because they are successful.....?

err, because the comparison is valid? it is worth mentioning? so that sachin's fans can get an alternate point of view about him?

Even their hero may accept his weakness, but not his fantards.

That is the lesson I learnt from forums...... :)

Getting a double hundred against arch rivals on foreign soil is the dream for any batsman.

In reality, he never made it a big issue in public but his foolish fantards did spew venom on Dravid and Ganguly.

in reality he never made it a big issue?? i suggest you check cricinfo archives of that match or newspaper articles. if you still believe he didnt make it a big issue, i salute you for being the greatest sachintard.

getting a double hundred against arch rivals may be a dream for a batsman, but not at the expense of winning. sachin had been told to hurry up many times before dravid declared. i suggest you do soem research on topics before spouting filth.

Sir, I am not a Sachin fan, I hope you read my messages properly before branding me that. I checked Cricinfo, please read John Wright's report on the Multan declaration. He says there was fault all around and gives valid explanation about it.
I am not defending Sachin, but as per what I read in other reports he said that he was disappointed about not being able to achieve the milestone after coming so close, and was taken by surprise at the timing. That is what any batsman would say when missing his record against an arch rival :)

Just read a reference in Rediff "rediffdotcom/cricket/2004/mar/29tendulkardothtm".

I am not defending Sachin or Dravid's action here since I am not a fan of any 1 cricketer. But if it gives you pleasure calling me a Sachin fan, I have no objections.

As I have told earlier on these forums, Dhoni/Greg Chappel's youngster preference has been portrayed by the media as hating oldies. It is a story BY the media and not the complete picture. Similarly this case......

My only intention is, such controversies are made bigger by the media and not by any sportsperson, who just blurts out what he feels.

valid points, but i must point out that sachin tendulkar in a press conference made it very clear that he was upset. taken by surprise at the timing? after having been told many times earlier to speed up? in john wright's autobiography and also rahul dravid's latest book, it is mentioned that sachin had been communicated to speed up. media might have spiced up the issue, no doubt, but it is clear that tendulkar wasnt too happy about it. my point is that tendulkar's reputation as a record seeker is enhanced by such incidents. we can dismiss it as something that is a heat of the moment reaction froma player or can believe it is motivated by a desire to accumulate as many records/runs as possible without regard to the team.

Patetic bowling!!
by Santhanam on Jul 23, 2012 10:57 AM

When is Indian bowling going to improve. Cant they bowl out Teams?? Bring back Sreesanth & Harbhajan.. These 2 Cartoons are required in the Team... If they swear at the Batsmen, use foul language against the Opposition team & get into their nerves, atleast then Opposition batsmen would loose focus, make mistakes & get out soon...Sreesanth has PHD in this...
