He was the mainstay of Zimbabwe's batting for many years. Scores usually would read like 180 or 190 all out with Taibu scoring around 90 or 100 or so.

No. that is not the reason.

He wants to show Ten Dull Car that it is time for Ten Dull Car to retire too.

Things are changed now.. He was not playing but Zim still winning or fighting to win.. Recently they won T20 tri series beating SA twice..

Ya. Zimbabwe like Bangladesh, seem to have the ability to stun people occasionally. It will be great if they make it a habit to win games. I still remember the CB series in Australia 2003 or 04. India and Australia came close to losing the match against Zimbabwe. But after the problem with contracts (or_racism, dont remember) it disintegrated badly....!
