World-cup win was INSPITE of Dhoni
by Unapologetic Intellectual on Jul 09, 2012 10:24 AM  | Hide replies

I mean look at Dhoni's Worldcup figures.
He had such a lousy performance.
It was Yuvraj, Sachin, Gambhir & Sehwag that propelled India.
Then in true Dhoni fashion, in the final, this guy promotes himself over Yuvraj for no freaking reason, hits the last six & becomes a Hero.
What a way to steal credit

if sehwag had captained
by sitansu padhi on Jul 08, 2012 09:56 PM  | Hide replies

i just want to ask sehwag, whether he could have brought home the world cup with the same team if he was the captain. absolutely not. Dhoni is the real captain who can change the result of a game. he is more intelligent than sachin, sehwag and rahul. ofcourse he is not aggressive like sourabh who is another captain to be admired. but this captain cool acts according to need of the game. i just dont think we would have got the cup if any one of sachin, rahul or sehwag were captain of the same team. you may be a good player but you can not be a good captain. it is easy to lead a team like australia, england and south africa but not India or Pakisthan, where every body desire to be the captain after one or two good performances. Even our Yuvraj who is the real hero of T20 and WC 2011 wins has failed miserably as a captain when given opportunities in one dayers. so just dont blame Dhoni. He has never taken all credits for any win nor he criticises any body in a loss. as a captain he has the right to show his anger if some body is not performing. he supports raina, rohit and virat as they are the future of indian cricket. one or two failures does not mean to expel a player from a team. do we have better players than these three. ofcourse not.

Sehwag's hair transplant surgery
by Shake Abdullah on Jul 08, 2012 09:33 PM  | Hide replies

Ever since Sehwag got his hair transplant surgery done, he started talking lot of nonsense. I think the surgeon removed a part of his brain along with the hair to be transplanted?

When did Dhoni took over the captaincy?
India didnt qualify for the second round in world cup and all the so called greats retired(???) from T-20 (again play in IPL).
All the frustrated persons writing that only luck has taken Dhoni to top blame on your luck that you only have to express your frustrataion on blogs.
Hypocracy - Doesn,t want to see a small town person with weak economic background aceive such success

Sehwag is right
by srterhdfhsdfgsf erretgfgd on Jul 08, 2012 05:55 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni rides on the shoulders of sachin and sehwags performance. When team wins, its because of him. When team loses its bcoz of seniors...hes 31 and captain...really dont understand what is Mr. Dhonis definition of a senior....may be those senior players who take a share from his pie of advertisements.

Dhoni - Epitome of LUCK Factor !
by Telley Gone on Jul 08, 2012 05:36 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni succeeded due to TWO REASONS :
1. When he took over Indian Captaincy almost all the big cricketing nations were on a slide and in the process of building their teams.
2. Least expectations from Selectors, Public and anyone following Cricket.

Besides, Dhoni was also lucky to have a team built & motivated to excel, courtesy SOURAV GANGULY.

on one hand you people say that he got his team courtesy ganguly. then also you say his team is full of youngsters. were the new generation players in ganguly's team?

btw we can say the same thing about ganguly. azhar created the team consisting of sachin, dravid, laxman, bhajji, kumble, ganguly himself etc. and ganguly got the team readymade and reaped the benefits of the successful indian team created by azhar....

SEHWAG, BATEIN CUM KARO AUR JYADA RUN BANAO
by damodaran mohan on Jul 08, 2012 04:55 PM

Yes, good side is needed to win WC but Sehwag should know better that it might not be enough.Captaincy is equally important. In his own case inspite of having one of the best side(DD) in IPL as Captain he could not win IPL-5.Given the fact that he has had a disasterous tours with bat and is in bottom of his form he should avoid such controversy.Any way the whole nation is eagerly awaiting to see how he performs with bat returning from injury in the SL tour.It is better he allows his bat to do all the talking.

Dhoni is a selfish person and a politician
by Mahesh V on Jul 08, 2012 09:50 AM  | Hide replies

He expects all the credit when the team wins. But when India loses he squarely places the blame on seniors and others.
And above all, he is a politician. No matter how badly his favourites like Raina, Ashwin and Jadeja perform he will never say anything against them and will continue to play them in the team.
