Of course there are no surprises and the selection is on expected lines.But as a policy the selectors must compulsorily pick at least one all-rounder for shorter version of the game, even if it has to be different player every time and even if he doesn't select himself.For competing with other teams absence of all-rounder becomes very big handicap.Bangladesh did better than India in Asia Cup mainly because of their all-rounders.That junior fellow Saxena could have been included if not the established ones.

The "Weak" Selector (Srikant) is "Clueless" as what to be done!!!! "Sachin","Sehwag","Dhoni","Gambir" & "Zaheer"...should have been "Dropped" for a period of "6 Months" for there "Pathetic" display in "Aust" & "Eng" where they "Njoyed" for many "Months"!!! So many "Youngsters" waiting in the "Ranks"...who can give "Win" for "India" but due to "Power" & "Influence"..."Sachin" is "Holding" his "Place"!!! "Sachin" has "Blocked" every "Possibility" of being "Dropped" ..."Srikant" in one "Pocket" & "Sports ministry" in "another" (RS Memeber)!!! "Sachin" will make a "Deal" at the end of "2015" ...to give 'Chance" to "Arjun"...then only he will "Retire"!!!!! In "India"...'Winning" is not "Important"...satisfying "Individual" ambitions are far more "Important"!!!! Sachins "23 yrs" of "Employment"..."PadmaVibushan"..."Mighty Records" have "Now" become a "Curse" to "Indian Cricket"!!!!

hey try to become at least .001% of sachin then speak... how many people on this earth know you at max 1000... make it 100000 then speak... cribbing about someone is easy then actually doing it and thats the reason you are on rediff and sachin on cricket ground...
This seems like a relatively easy job , and with our team's strengths better suited to subcontinent wickets, back to winning ways is no big deal in my opinion. Well yes, lanka won their recent odi series 3-1 against pak, sure, but our odi team is much stronger than pak's team especially in the batting dept. And having to play an adversary we've played the most in recent times, its all the more easier.
Moreover, we've won ALL our 5-match bilateral series against lanka. and won last 4 bilateral series in a row.
Sachin is the 'Lambee Race Ka Ghoda". Which means he will pace himself nicely so that he can play for two more decades. And the selectors will keep appreciating the pace set by Sachin.
