This is all drama, why he is concerned about better replacement,he cannot play anymore and want to enjoy the money he has earned,he was successful as long as seniors were performing ,the day srs performance went down his caliber is open to everyone, he will not leave captaincy of any format becaz this will reduce brand value of his and Chennai superking,Mr srinivasan will take all care of this and since BCCI now being headed by businessman there is no scope or charm left in indian cricket, this years IPL will be a big flop.

What India ails from is the complacency & play safe methods of Coach Duncan Fletcher, arrogant & uninspired captaincy of Dhoni and most of all-an aging team of stalwarts like Laxman, Dravid, Sachin & Zaheer Khan.
Laxman, great player & team man as he is, should realize that he is well past his USE BY date and retire. Sachin & Dravid may at the max have one more year. Groom promising batsmen like Rohit Sharma, Cheteswar Pujara and maybe even an extended run for Ambati Rayadu & Murli Vijay. Parthiv Patel, Suresh Raina & Yuvraj are NOT Test players Period.
But first things first 1. Sack Duncan Fletcher & Eric Simmons. They are mere passengers 2. Dhoni should no longer be captain of the Test Team. Gautam or Viru could be the better option.

SACK FLETCHER and SIMMONS, force the the old lions to retire ( dravid, VVS and sachin)and replace with new cubs(kohli, raina ), bring veeru as test captain and gambhir as ODI and T20 captain and
Pity, Dhoni does not know that if he is out of the captaincy, he may not be in the team. His performance as a batsman and WK have not been that great. Luck was with him till now and he has made enough money. He can now aford to step aside before he is replaced.

He knows that very well. But this is as usual a publicity stunt. That is why he says "IF THERE IS A BETTER REPLACEMENT"........ But trust me, he will NOT resign from the captaincy now! After this series, for almost 1.5~2 years it is flat track matches in the sub-continent. The next series abroad (out of sub-continent), you can expect him to resign.
He is obviously in to the comfort zone. Say the same politically right stuff at the end of the every lost and move on to the next game and keep milking..
We will be the ultimate loose if we keep him as Captain moving forward..

What an excuse to drop him!! Dhoni, or any other player for that matter is not present on the ground to "wave" or "entertain" spectators & fans. The same people l1ck1ng them today will cry for their blood one day! The people calling them heroes will call them zeros. Havent we seen this happening to Kapil Dev/Sachin/Ganguly/Pathan, etc?
The next Test series is being played on Flat decks in India. I just hope that the Cricket fans don't cheer the players when they score the hundreds on flat tracks in India later this year. The players are never recognized if they are just good on flat decks!!!!
