Play later first start your academies
by Raj rai on Jan 30, 2012 02:14 PM

There is a rush for cricket acadmeis by our team players as they know their caliber very well. This IPL money has completely damaged the psyche and spirit of our players. Just after 1-2 years in the team and they start opening theit academies for future money making optionsIn the bargain they forget their main focus in life to play hard cricket for the country. Its a pity.
Mr.Raina can brag to whatever he wants but the writing is on the wall that Indian cricket is in a pot and the present members are just fancy money spinning chaps from IPL.

Amazing Statement
by RAPCHIK on Jan 30, 2012 01:43 PM

Raina's statement conveys that Team India deliberately underperformed during the test series. What does he otherwise mean by playing differently during ODIs ?

Young players like raina, kohli, ashwin shud learn to keep quiet and focus on the game.. they shud learn to bring reputation to the country and not shoot their mouth... how differently u will play... one day or test match, ultimately it is a game bet a bowler and batsman... and aussie bowlers hv bowled smartly...

question
by Abhijit Nair on Jan 30, 2012 01:22 PM  | Hide replies

In the recent Test series b/w Eng and Pak , Eng vice captain Aliastar cook was on 94 and given out lbw and the team had 2 reviews for drs.He did not take it and was satisfied with umpire decision.
Just a hypothetical ques:
If Sachin was on 94 and looking for 100th 100 and DRS was there(He himself is the opponent of drs), would he have walked even if it was plumb?
Sachin would not.

Cook didn't take it 'coz he's DEAD PLUMB infront of the wicket.. he thought its wise not to waste 1 review.. he would have gone for the review if he'd any doubts..

that is my point as well.
Many a batsman in the world would use that drs when nearing 100 knowing fully well that he is dead plumb.
Cook was an exception

that lbw was plumb even Kumble called it plumb, that drs gave it missing came as shock to umpire ian gould.
Somewhere the drs has to be improved but drs has improved the decision making and umpires are getting it more correct

then why did Sachin tell Dravid to take the drs in england 3rd test @birmingham when Simon taufel gave dravid caught behind?
the reason is that even the greats like Taufel and Sachin as well as dravid was convinced it was out

Tendulkar in the tri-series..
by jaguar on Jan 30, 2012 01:18 PM  | Hide replies

well, i have been saying this all along. Tendulkar should play ODIs rather skipping it. If you are fit enough to play Test then you are fit for ODIs as well.. Don't get me wrong.. but, Tendulkar was the highest run getter in the WC after Dilshan.. and he did contribute to India's cause greatly. Think abt the semi-final against Pakistan.. He did get 4 lives but scored 85 runs and that added to the reasonable total India got.. take that 85 runs away and you'd see a sorry scorecard. We all know that the end is near from him but he still has enough steam to make it count in ODIs. Noone should be surprised, if Tendulkar does really well in the tri-series.

Guys, i am just giving some facts.. India is a better team in ODIs.. my point is if SRT is not performing he should retire.. if he does well then we should not point fingers at him. as simple as that

Different Cricket
by Indian In on Jan 30, 2012 12:55 PM

This means they are not going to stick to basics and would play the way they wants and would lower India's rating further in ODI and T20 as well. In test, we are already dropped down and only T20 and ODI left and this dream will be fulfilled by DIFFERENT CRICKET by them
