That's not the point. His performance has to be judged against his lofty standards not against the pathetic performance of his team mates

pseudo: So at last you have come clean on what you think about the capabilities of the top 4 aussie batsmen...Good...:-)
Ricky Ponting must be very happy today. Remember the following: 1.Under him Australia lost the WC after 12 yrs to India 2.He lost test series in India 2-0 in 2008 and 2010 3.He lost the team's No1 rank in tests as well and India became 1 for a brief time. After all this and the humiliation that indian media heaps on Ricky at that time. It is only appropiate that aus won 4-0 with ricky scoring 500 runs

You missed a point. He was also instrumental in australia's win over india in 2003 world cup final. Remember 140*. Also he had captained 2 of the world cup wins. Legend is always a legend. Just like Sachin is for us.

Sachin can never be considered a legend to us like Bradman or Sobers. He never sailed India to any convincing victories against AUS or SA.

Bronze Money:
Please go back to reading your new novels... :) With anything cricketmania says, you'll no doubt say "only this?" "only that?" Tri-series wasn't world cup. It was in 2008. WC - he didn't play in finals. Hyderabad against Australia 175 - but we lost. Century against SA and England in WC - but it was on flat pitch. Century against SA in SA - but we didn't win the series... etc. etc. etc... :)
BTW, how come Ponting never scored in a WC final except when he got weak Indian bowling? :)
