Gavaskar rightly suggested that new comer will be selected by Ranji Match. Our Seniorn players like Sachin,Dravid,Sehwag, Laxman will not retire because they get enough money not only from playing matches but a huge amount by advertisement. If they will not play for countrythen no body will give them chance for advertisement.
It is high time seniors who are regularly failing in performance shown the gate out.Here no compromise,no sentiments.Sentiments are in its place when u consider their past and respect that but not at the expense of the future of Indian Cricket.If u dont act now the youngsters in form will lose interest and slog with national level and seniors will continue with their assured positions and commercial appearances and income as it happens now.Why Sewag like cricketers say it is upto senior players to continue or retire?Does he mean that selectors have no choice other than keeping them! 2 series whitewash ! not sufficient for selectors to take a stern action,especially when bench strength is very good?Also to take action to make pitches simulating overseas conditions so that players not get surprised when exposed overseas.
These 3 had got their feet into test team, for the past 5-10 years, players like badri, kaif, tiwary, rayadu and some others were desperate to get into the test team, but the giants had blocked their way. But now when there are spaces getting vacant, these players are not in form. So the other lot like bisht, saxena, rahane, Abhisek nayar are a bit lucky, there are in form at present and will be selected ahead of the old bench, this is what the timing & luck all about. Pujara, Rohit, Kohli are certain to fill the slots. I reckon even sehwag and gambhir dont deserve to be in the test team atleast. Let them play onedayers and based on their form, should be selected in tests.
Current Selectors are more busy watching IPL & CHhampions League matches. They select players for Test Matches from such limited over format of cricket.
Bring back Dilip Vengsarkar who was the best Chief Selector in the history of Indian Cricket.

I agree with you. Our test team is selected by wathcing one day & 20-20 match bvy selectors. Similarly, the fielding should be given preference. The lazy fielders like Laxman,Dravid, Sachin, Zaheer & Sehwag should be dropped from team.
We all know how many chances Gambhir was given at international level after repeated failures to make him stable. Literally used international games as net practice for him.
Let us be fair to Mukund who did not get enough chance to prove himself. He was sent for a series where the whole indian batting failed on a bowler friendly wicket and dropped. Let us not repeat an ashok mankad here. Give him good chance - he would surpass some fo the greats (or are we afraid that our greats should not be surpased?)
