Besides training on cricket, players should be taught behavioural training. Spectators might say anything because they have come for fun. but the players should be dignified enough in their response. After all cricket runs on the money of the specators.
It is rather unfortunate that Kohli behaved like a school kid especially when the team was staring at a humiliating defeat. I wonder if any other national player would do a similar act under similar circumstance. This also proves that the player has deficiency in dignity and mature behavior. The Ausies have seen lots of brashness in immigrants from Chandigarh and it is shameful that this guy displayed a bit of that...Shameful of being Indian!!!!
Different players react differently and it is a function of their own personality and also of their own culture's.
Aussies react wildly and that is their culture primarily because all Aussies have descended from the unwanted criminals shipped out to Australia from England.
That is why you see more offensive behaviour from Aussies than that you find in the English.
Similarly Indians are a little passive unlike Pakistanis.
Even in India, SOuth Indians and Maharashtrians are a little modest and not aggressive unlike Punjabis.
There is nothing right or wrong about it.
When a SOuthie like Dravid, Laxman and a Maharastrrian Sachin dont react aggressively, a Punjabi like Virat Kohli may react in an AUssie way.
Gavaskar should understand it.
Take the case of Vivian Richards.
His best came when he was provoked.
Some players give their best when provoked and some merely succumb.
Gavaskar might have given his best by keeping calm even when provoked; but that doesnot mean others also should keep quiet in order to give their best. May be they can react like Viv Richards and give their best when provoked. Javed Miandad is another example.
Javed never swallowed insults and gave it back in equal measure to the opponents. But that didnt affect his batting. He also gave his best when provoked.
May be Virat is of that type.
Why on earth any one should swallow insults when they say the most offensive things about their mothers and sisters

Well said kabeer. But rediff seems to agree to sunny's comments a they deleted my response. Sad that websites merely want others to echo what they like! I am sure this too would be deleted!

The Government of India has decided to constitute an inquiry commission under a retired judge of Supreme Court of India to look into the circumstances under which Virat Kohli got his Hundred, despite playing for INDIA on the current tour of Australia.
You are the only player taken century in these 4 test matches..... Your angry action should see the selectors also and they must give the answer for not playing rohith sharma. We need a boy for captaining indin side after Ganguly.... The captain should send him 2 or 3 rd spot in the second innings, by coming at No.6 slot how can he make a century??? as he is in touch with ball he must send at 3spot. Aswin also can come down .

No 6 is as good as opening slot as top order collapses are way too common for india
