Give them ultimatum
by Kalpak chandra on Jan 26, 2012 04:49 PM  | Hide replies

The top 5 batsman should be given the ultimatum that they shud save this test or win it .if india loses this test all the seniors must be suspended for 1 year from all form of cricket (sum shud be terminated) . These players r feeling that their place is permanent in the team . They shud be shown that they r not that imp before the pride of the country.

No doubt virat played well for his deserving century... but he should have completed the second run before celebrating... signs of immaturity... any way hats off to him...

Yes, Saha played correct technical cricket. BCCI should dish out such players if Indian cricket nees to play sensibly on foreign pitches.

test match and Sachin
by ckamdar on Jan 26, 2012 04:22 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin must bat at no.1 his original position which has brought so many runs and century to his credit. Also he may think of retiring therafter and do so gracefully.

hes a coward to accept that offer..when we were struggling with regular openers, he should have come forward to open..he didnt for fear of getting out cheaply..where as rahul had even kept for india apart from opening..saurav dropped himself one down for teh sake of accomodating sehwag with sachin..laxman was pushed to open several times..well, its indian politics at worst..

The only way Indian cricket can now get rid of this worn out trio is announcement immediately after 4 the test by Sachin his decision to quit all form of cricket. It is otherwise becoming a national shame

its good that ppl like u are askign for his head for a filure in just two series..that shows the level of expectations these greats have set for themselves over a period of time..ricky was not in form for 2 years, without scoring a century..now look what he has done..these greats know when to hang up their boots..cricket is a team game..keep that in mind..

Mr Dharan: your comparison of Sachin et al., vs. Ponting and Hussey is partly correct. True the aged Indian trio are at least as talented as the Aussi duo. BUT, there is a huge difference in fitness and athleticism. Watch Ponting and Hussey in the field; and then compare that with Laxman. I think Indian cricketer, in general, do not spend much time on gym and track after they make a name. Only net practice does not make an athlete.

thats what am saying..if laxman was found lacking in fitness, why we didnt ask him to retire even when in peak form?? if sehwag was scoring runs without moving his feet, which is a mandatory trait for a batsman, why we didnt ask him to retire then and there itself??thats what am saying, we are not pro active, we are reactive..

Wow - Harbhajan for captain. Good that you are not selector.

Is that a one day team or test? That team will not get 20 wickets which is the problem we have right now. It is important to get wickets so that the pressure is not too much on batsman playaing against big score - hence greater pressure.

If our bowlers had restricted them to lesser score - may be their bowlers may not have same success as they have now.

Bhavik,
Why Harbhajan now? He hasnt done well even in Ranji!!
And we need Ojha in place of Iqbal Abdulla.
Varun Aaron in the place of Harbhajan, isnt it better?

plese give me a chance . I can score more than laxman . And i would have enjoyed a foreign tour for free . Actually i think bcci should announce a new pakage for tourist five players should be real and all other should be tourists. It will be a good option of earning and if any tourist plays well by mistake he should be included in the team
