It is good for sports in India
by sunilkumar mishra on Jan 25, 2012 04:16 PM  | Hide replies

The way cricket is losing its sheen from among the fans across the nation due to some horrendous spineless failures abroad without offering any resistance by our so-called legends of the game supplemented by the most overrated bowlers, i believe it is not a bad sign as it can really give way and scope to much better sports and games like hockey, football, despite these are far ahead of cricket in all the aspects of the value of value of sports and sheer number of nations involved in the game

Boycott IPL
by fink fanther on Jan 25, 2012 02:48 PM  | Hide replies

I hope there is some way by which we all (public) can boycott IPL. Both by not watching the games on TV and also refusing to turn up at stadiums. That will teach the BCCI a lesson. After all, the public is the one who generates revenues for the BCCI. But I guess it is impossible, because there are people out there who will throng to watch the games in the stadium and on TV. Hope there is some way to convince them not to.

Yes, but even if there is a way to reduce the revenue generated by the BCCI due to IPL by 50% compared to previous years, it will be a big blow for them. Surely there are enough people who care for indian cricket to take such an action....? Anna Hazare started a movement and people took his cause because they were sick of the existing situation. If some prominent cricketer can start such a similar movement, people are bound to join. At least it will wake the BCCI up.

Just think about it. After all this humiliation (and perhaps more to come in the ODI tri series), the IPL comes along and everyone is happy and everything is forgotten. Our zeroes become heroes again. CSK will win and Srinivasan has a fat pay cheque. Dhoni with his smug smile is hailed. thats just pathetic.

IPL is not only cricket finkfanther! It is much more than that! There is a strong nexus between bcci, cricketers, bollywood, TV channels and corporates for providing an entertainment package which our junta will lap up anyway. The same commentators who criticise now, will sing a totally different song being on the payrolls of bcci. IPL has become an 8pm soap on the idiot box. Everybody in the lootgang will laugh all the way to bank. when is the IPL ticket bookings opening..? he he

Don't be too critical this time. The ball indeed came of his elbow and hit the stumps. His dismissal is not because of poor foot work as in the previous dismissals. Bad luck continues for him.

big blow to advestising companies like Pepsi and cola.how they can promote their goods with sachin and dhoni. now they will replace these failed cricket players with bollywood stars till we forget this white wash. Also BCCI will arrange another home series with zimbabae or bangladesh to facilitate sachin and others to score hundreds and to make indian spectators fools.

Suraj, you are not following Indian cricket closely. The zeroes abroad will become Heroes in IPL in no time. The Dhonis,Tingus and Bhajjis of the world will blast their way into IPL matches. Throw in pretty things like Preity,Shilpa,Deepika,Nita et all and you have full house. Pepsis and Cokes will only be waiting in the wings.. ! Jai IPL !

WHAT TO DO
by krishna on Jan 25, 2012 02:36 PM  | Hide replies

When Indians bowl it is a lifeless flat pitch and once they start batting the pitch becomes lively and difficult to bat.The only way India can win is change the team names ie India to be called AUSSIES and Australia to be called INDIA.It is high time to kick out all the outdated Senior batsman and bowlers to avoid such humilation. Our cricketers are so shameless and they act as if defeat is a greta achievement.

When Indians lose, its a "learning experience" and when Indians win, its because of "leaning on experience"!!!
