Great Players
by Indian In on Jan 21, 2012 03:19 PM  | Hide replies

Whatever it is, what finally matters is how the team fared. And we all know that WE, INDIA, HAVE LOST MORE MATCHES THAN WON. If there are greatest players like these in the team, then we should have WON more matches than LOST. So, that itself speaks of quality and greatness of players we have in the team.

We must include Kapil Dev, Gavaskar, Chandrashekhar... the great players in the team. After that Indian team will obviously be the best in terms of the past records of players.

sachin is overhyped overarted player. he is just like any other intl cricketer. the kind of long rope & tenure he has got from BCCI , gavaskar , vishvanath , or for that matter steve waugh , gatting ,gooch , lara etc would have scored much more in 22 years of intl cricket.

the greatness is that he lasted so long. He has always been in form. He has scored more runs than others even in bad form. This is proved by the fact that he has always been inside top 20 and 70% of time inside top 10 excluding injury time. Even now he is the best batsman India has and probably the top 3 in world cricket. This is true even if you conside only the last 2 years and not his previous records.

Wow - Did you really follow Sachin and/or any other crickter. He has changed his technique/style to suite his and team needs. He has adapted even when teams are studying his every move. All teams, all academies from under 12 to school team show their bowlers/batsman what he does. To learn, to find flaw. Inspite of this he has been great. He is one of the best ever. Not only the way he plays, his endurance, his passion, his down to earth attitude. All goes in making what he his. Should we compare to past greats. may be we cannot. Maybe Sober's would have done even better with the celebrity status crickter's get today, maybe Bradman would have cracked under all the pressure , maybe Tendulkar/Lara would have batted even better in Bradman era. Maybe Pointing would have never been a star if he would have been Indian and with so much fan pressure.
I am sure you cannot with your limited cricket acumen.
So just relax, enjoy and be happy being alive when one of the greatest crickter/sportsman is playing in front of you.

Nitin Teams are studying his moves -thats why he is bunny of Swing bowlers and What pressure are u talking about, seems like Sachin is doing it for free or for charity.Once u will visit his Sachins and Tendulkars restaurants in mumbai and Bengaluru,u will realise that he has earned handsomely from cricket. If u think its too much pressure, then advise him to take retirement.

by Yaqoot Mir on Jan 21, 2012 02:06 AM  | Hide replies

Frankly Tendulkar does not even deserve to be 9th...he stays there only on reputation and respect and I have nothing against him but rankking cannot be emotional....the man needs to retire, Dravid on the other hand is scratching away and has done better than tendu anyway. Pakistan should not even focus on the sham rankings we need to perform as a team without heroes. This pakistan team has risen from the ashes of a very controversial spot fixing scandal and frankly the scandal itself was broken by a paper in disrepute pakistanis still dont believe this was done, regardless pakistan cricket remains a resiliant force and this also proves our point, CONTACT or NO CONTACT with internation cricket at home, we have the talent to stay extremely competitive, we dont need the ICC the ICC needs us....Good bye and good riddance if no one wants to tour, we will come to a neutral ground the kick the snots out of you!

Thanks for agreeing SRT has Reputation and respect..to further elaborate on that..those things are never on sale in mkt..One has to earn it...Talking rubish abt SRT is almost a newfound hobby for many..Ppl feel dignified if they happen to find faults of Greatest player (whther faults present or not thats debatable perspective of an individual lol)..Donald bradman has gone thru that too..Dont go ga ga by one victory..remembr wht happen tpo pak team in UK last tour..?? and one before that..In cricket better performaing team wins and only one teams wins at a time..In fact i m happy pak team won against UK..but that doesnt qualify u to snob SRT..
