THE TRIO DESERVE FITTING FAREWELL IN NEXT HOME SERIES
by damodaran mohan on Jan 19, 2012 02:34 PM

Instead of singling out Laxman it would be better to retire all the three in the next Home series. Each one of the three that is Sachin,Laxman and Dravid can be given one farewell TEST match with matches staged at Hyderabad,Bangalore and Mumbai. All good things in life have to come to an end one day and so should services of these three great players who deserve a fitting farewell in the next Home series.

Over attention
by Ganesh on Jan 19, 2012 08:40 AM  | Hide replies

Laxman won't retire so soon. Still lot of shopping to do in Australia and many other cricket playing countries.

Our guys finish in 2 or 3 days so that they get more time to roam around around or shop. Then when all the money is over, the T20 starts and refuels them with cash for more shopping and more fun.

Life is for fun. These guys did all hard work in domestic cricket to have fun .Let them enjoy now. Let them. Let them do masti. Don't talk about country and all boss.

They just wear Indian flag on helmet for show off. Aussies don't wear any flag on their cap. They play with flag inside their mind and hearts.

If you want to see Indians playing for India and really fighting for Indian honour then go see Indian Armed forces who sacrifice so much. These cricket guys are paid, sponsored, fed well, clothed well, infact OVER FED, OVER PAID and given OVER ATTENTION.

Just for playing bat and ball and that also not properly playing some guys are given crores and crores and crores and some brands infact buy these guys as if they were GODs playing bat and ball in heaven and that seeing these Gods, people would buy those brands. Crores and crores and crores paid to these guys - these could feed so many poor, helpless, destitute and underprivileged citizens of India and then some thousands of us pay huge sums of ticket money to watch these guys get crores of money and also beaten and thrashed in cricket matches in such pathetic ways.

Decline can be dramatic
by shiva on Jan 19, 2012 07:30 AM

One ages suddenly at certain span of life. From over thirty, it starts. Look at tennis stars. Laxman need not retire, but India has to groom yougsters too. Australia is clear; their stalwarts were told in no uncertain terms that they were on watch. We can learn from others too to give the right message at the right time.

Great catches
by Abhiram Bhat on Jan 19, 2012 06:51 AM  | Hide replies

VVS has taken some great catches in the slip even in this series. He made them look so easy! Dhoni should use him in the right position. Why is the author talking of his fielding?

Last test as lone slip fielder millions watched ball passing through his legs to boundary.
I suspect it could not be hidden from author.

Foolish Indians..
by Michael Angelo on Jan 19, 2012 06:31 AM  | Hide replies

It was Laxman's 291 which sparked of India's great run which lead to India being No.1. Viru, Gauti, Jammy etc. followed it up. Sachin should be retired for India. Sachin has done nothing for India. He only scores for himself. Sachin is in form. Why can't he make India win? VVS single handedly changed the fortunes of team India in 2001 Kolkota test. The others were able to feed off his performance there. When has Sachin ever done something so great? Sachin is a big loser and should be removed from the team. All the attention was on his 100th century. That is why team India got distracted and and started losing. Talking losing all this started only after N.Srinivasan took over as BCCI chief. Why is nobody calling for his head?

very true...for more than 20 years it is the other 10 players who have performed well in difficult situations and blind sachin fanatics have always abused other 10 players and donated the credit of their performances into sachin's account....this has been going on for 20 years...

Angelo:

:-)... Good point. BTW, are you counting Laxman's 291 under Dhoni's account, Wasim Jafar's account or your own account? :)

Future Cricket in India, Team India

As we all know its billion talented people country, there is no drain for talent.

However we have only 11 players can play for this country. If everyone try to glue their place for a decade, what happens to our young talent players lineup in Ranji, National, State, Division, Local, School.

If Team India does not give opportunity to National Players, Ranji Players does not get a chance into National Team, Similar for Divisional Players don\\\\\\\'t get into Ranji, State.

Local & school Budding Talent will never want to waste their life waiting for division & District berth.

Think about this

These Senior guys keep saying '' We are going to play as long as we enjoy the game''. But someone has to tell them a few things :-
1.      Pls, also win matches abroad so that even the Indians watching this game can enjoy
2.      If you Seniors are going to keep playing, when are the younger lots going to play.
3.      And if you Seniors are playing just to enjoy, how about not charging your match fees to the board.
4.      How long would you Seniors play if board stops paying you at all.
