why only at the end of the series - why not now and give a chance to Rohit - fans would think high of him if he does so... hopefully he does it.

Why only two

Why only Lakshman and Dravid to retire. Even Sachin should call it a day. Is he still playing for his 100th 100. It BCCI wants to drop senior players they should do it for Sachin also as he is also 38 years now. Why diffent treatment for him. He should not play for personal goal.

Shyamu, when u grow up and read the record books, u will understand that Sachin was the best indian batsman in this series, plus he was given a wrong lbw. Before Sachin, they should think about Gambhir.

@Shyamsunder
=============
Sachin can negotiate any pitch and bowler

also he scored and looked good in both MCG and Scg tests as well
--
Perth test - agreed he failed in fisrt innigs ,but second innings BAD LUCK LBW decision

Sachin can play Front Foot and Back Foot Cover drives

Sachin is also Capable of playing strainght at bowlers on ground and above bowlers Head

-----
compare that with
----
OTHERS in the team ,they all were trying to play with face of the bat and bowlers pace and swing
but ended up in catches in slip cordon or behind the wicket

Sachin on any given day irrespective of the PITCH can avoid such shots and blast the BOWLERS

that is why SACHIN IS ALL SEASONS
ALL PITCHES BATSMAN

so we should let Sachin play for another 1.5 years atleast until we get some Young players set

till that time ,we must make YOUNGSTERS be part of INDIA A TEAM and tour - aust ,sa and west indies etc

If Sachin was so keen on his 100th ton, he would have played in the domestic ODI series against the Windies & easily have reached that milestone. So, please don't accuse Sachin of playing just for personal goals! People have such short memories and worse, no respect!

My beef is with Ganguly
by Raj on Jan 17, 2012 08:47 AM  | Hide replies

For Ganguly to laugh about IPL is hypocritical. HE was the one who was crying when free enterprise worked against him.
BCCI should silence this Ganguly - the clown.

my question
by Smart on Jan 17, 2012 07:32 AM

If India had shown up a fight and have drawn the series 1-1 or 2-2 with Lax and Dravid getting a ton atleast, will this cry of dropping seniors ever come? we need a reason...and now seniors have become a reason for our flop show...in england, dravid and to some extent lax showed some grit...at that time we wanted the heads of kohli, raina and gambir..now its dravid and laxman...we dont have any sense...young blood young blood young blood...what will young blood do without an old blood mentoring them..what have Dhoni, sehwag, gambir and Kohli (please leave out the perth test for him) done to have them in team...has any youngster who have been given a chance, proved themselves in the test area..say from the WI tour???mindless idiots are asking for the head of Lax and Dravid...they still have some class inside them...leave them to their own and let them decide when to leave than to force them...

Pitch preparation and blah blah blah
by Vaidhy Narayanan on Jan 17, 2012 07:24 AM

I do see plenty of comments in this forum related to pitch preparation and how Indians and team India (national or BCCI team) are ill prepared in fast and bouncy wickets etc. Although its partially true that we lack fast and sporting wickets but doesn’t answer why someone in opposition makes 329 runs and your whole team struggles to make 300 . I hope you guys understand.
Team India (including seniors) lack temperament, will to perform, to some extent skills (not everyone) and completely motivation period (I meant end of sentence dot).
Btw many of forum commentators or bloggers may not know that team india under Sourav Ganguly made 708 runs and declared back in 2004 in Sydney test match. Think about it, time Sachin Tendulya retires gracefully. I salute the hero but now he’s becoming a burden. Dravid and Laxman need to be shown the door harshly.

What about Sachin?
by Michael Angelo on Jan 17, 2012 07:18 AM

If Laxman or Dravid were in form India would never have lost. Sachin is in form and yet India loses. What is the use for preserving a match loser in the team.
