Test Series Vs Austrailia.
by sriraam subramaniam on Jan 16, 2012 06:48 PM  | Hide replies

It is really shame on the part of India.
Losing Test Series to Australia.
It is pathetic. How long we should suffer the humiliation? The present seniors in the Team has no BACK BONE. They should be sacked immediately and a New Captain and Team should be formed.
Sriraam Kolkata.

overlooked by selectors
by indira on Jan 16, 2012 06:48 PM

The warning signals were there when India toured West Indies where the team struggled to make even 250 on the fast pitches. It continued in England also and the result was a humiliating 0-4 series loss. Dhoni also was slowly changing into a defensive captaian. But still the selectors ignored these warning signs and shrugged off the defeat in England as an aberration. The selectors thought that the senoirs will go on for ever. They failed to trust the yougsters and give them a long rope. Their attitude was like when the problem arises we will search for the solution. Problems can't be solved overnight and they have to tackled with proper planning and far reaching results in mind. Selectors wake up atleast now!

A worst team with a much worse Captain
by powerful Goldstar on Jan 16, 2012 06:30 PM

The current cricket team is like a bunch of non performing heavy weights stalling any progress with an even worse non performing Captain Dhoni. From the times of World cup itself, if we observer Dhoni mannerisms anyone can readily observe that he is not enjoying cricket anymore. There is no application of oneself. Its like a lamb leading a bunch of rats. Virender Sehwag, Dravid, Lakshman all should be sacked. We should be prepared to accept defeats by inducing fresh blood into the team if need be. Then only we will be able to spot talent and build a better team for the 2015 world cup. Its not a matter of Test or ODI's. The Indian team have got no genuine fast bowlers or batsmen who have adaptability to varying types of bowling. They dont have the sportsman spirit. BCCI is fully responsible for such non performing heavy weights prosper by doing ads for IPL and other useless stuff. If they were sacked long way, they would have learnt the lesson. The BCCI led by shameless fellows like N Srinivasan should be weeded out. There is absolute garbage in their heads. See, Australia or South Africa or England have no big players with huge statistics to boast about, but they have players who adapt quickly and play competitive cricket. The BCCI is just focussed on making money by arranging matches on dead slow pitches in India against weak teams. They are not interested in any improvement for Indian cricket.Until there is some attitude change, Indian cricket will continue to be a disgrace

Major surgery needed for Indian Cricket - a soon dead patient
by powerful Goldstar on Jan 16, 2012 05:48 PM

There needs to be changes in the Indian cricketing system wherein all non performing players irrespective of they are senior or junior should be rested immediately. There should be a mix of Pacy bouncy tracks and slow turning tracks in India. This will help players to adapt to varying conditions quickly. Sehwag, Dhoni, Sachin, Dravid, Lakshman are long pending to be given a resting break. Fresh blood needs to come to the team. Look at the teams of Australia, England, South Africa. They dont have many players with huge batting statistics to boast about becos they rotate immediately non performing players whereas in India when immediately a Virendar Sehwag or Dhoni does fireworks on a below average current team like West Indies, we the public and media lift them up to the stars. The BCCI is ruining quality of Indian cricket by not focussion on improving quality of pitches in India and giving chances to performing players in A teams in India. I think they work in tandem with regional lobbies. Starting with the BCCI president, all should be sacked and people who have good experience with Cricket should be given the positions. Even after repeated experiences, the BCCI, cricket selectors nor the management in India seem to learn. There is absolute waste clogged in their heads. They are just waiting for making money using the dead pitches in India. I think public should not patronise such non competitive IPL or domestic matches then only these people will learn.

Series Loss
by salil shrikhande on Jan 16, 2012 05:47 PM  | Hide replies

Dear all,
Don't blame Dhoni or Sachin or Dravid. The main difference is the balling. You all can see how australian ballers were bowling with accuracy, Plan & bounce with swing. I am sure if Australian Batsmen were asked to play their own bowling they would have found it difficult to score. When australian bowlers were able to get viscious swing our ballers were unable to to put them in difficulty. Even today there are only handful number of batsmen who are comfortable against bounce & swing. So stop criticising our batsmen & appreciate the australian pace attack. Matches can won if we have 5 good bowlers. We have got only one reliable bowler - Zaheer. I think we must improve our bowling first.

Then why do you call Tendulkar and Dravid great when they can not play high-quality fast bowling.

Tendulkar especially has toured Australia many times but he is still not able to play with confidence.

I partially agree with u. U r right on spot when u said aussies would struggle against their own bowling....Yes....But what about Indian batsman? Let us just assume that both auusies and Indian batsman face same bowling attack (i,e Harris, Siddle, Starc n Hilfenhaus)..Aus will definetely score thrice much than Indians...Reason...PITCHES...Aussie batsman r adapted to play in those kind of pitches...also Indian Batsman's form is little bit worse than that of Oz..

See if austrlians were struggling when Yadav & Zaheer were bowling better. I hope you have seen on the TV How australians were bowling cleverly - Using the crease, Changing line & length with definite plan for each of our main batsmen. Some were easliy got trapped eg. Sehwag,Dhoni to some extent Gambhir & Laxman. What I mean is that their bowlers had plan. I am sure they would have found out the weakness of even Australian Batsmen also if they were to bowl Ponting, Clark, Warner.

One last insult
by Abed Jani on Jan 16, 2012 05:18 PM

There is one last insult left, when after winning against India the opponent will not rejoice. Even Austria may do that after the completing the whitewash, which seems so inevitable, that no one probably talk about it.
