Don't say a little more cricket is left
by Chandran KR on Jan 15, 2012 02:46 PM  | Hide replies

We have to endure Tendulkar longer. Either he should get his 100th ton in the next and retire ASAP. Or should be given Bharat Ratna and asked to leave. Hope he wont stay until all the cricket left in him is completely drained because by the time all the cricket in the youngsters would dry and wither away. Sachin should not say a little more cricket is left, we are not playing to see the little cricket until it is all squeezed dry. There are youngsters with a little cricket now who should be given the chance to prove they have big cricket in them.

Debacle at Perth
by devendra khurana on Jan 15, 2012 02:43 PM  | Hide replies

Debacle at Perth
Indian cricket is not moving in a positive direction.Three consecutive defeats in Australia have shattered the morale of the Indian team.It is difficult to pin point who is to blame for India's defeat but it appears that batsmen have lost patience to stay at the wicket for a long period of time which is required in Test cricket.Apart from this, good technique, temperament and dedication is required to succeed at the highest level.Indian batsmen have been found lacking in these areas. Now,the question is whether the selectors would take some tough decisions or they would stick with the current crop of players.

Hi devender
====
iam a cricket fan too
just merely throwing players as a knee jerk reaction will not help

yes some seniors are prime age
let us not push them out rather phase them out
-----
why everyone is reacting with just players replacement alone ?

there are other things like -
improve technique with bolwing machines
---
get some green turfs in india
---
get INDIA A TEAM to tour aust ,west indies ,sa and england and play in their domestic league

in 1.5 yrs time - we will replace the team with younger players

set goals ,stratgegies and good coaching plans
and do some reforms

all together will yeild results and will make INDIAN cricket last longer
--
not just replacing the players alone will do it

Pressure with media is what they will do best ?

just becaquse aussie media and SOME NDTV says - BCCI should d it ?

dont we have some plans and ways ?

I would like to share an observation with all the cricket fans.I recently went to see the football match between Bayern Munich & India. Despite our heavy loss which was inevitable,it was an eyeopener to see the Germans run for 35 mins after the game got over. Our indian team were nowhere to be seen. The Germans divided themselves into two goups with their respective trainers and started doing their endurance workout. The point which I would like to drive in is that you need total commitment and pride in every single in team, support staff, administrators, fans etc.I reckon this is the only way to move ahead and improve in your particular field of work.

Award Tendulkar Bharat Ratna !
by VajpayeeKaulsex on Jan 15, 2012 02:34 PM  | Hide replies

So that celeberations can be made by fanatic fans !
One must always rememeber that during great Tendulakr era India never won in Tests in australia or SA!
Even in T20 2007 Tendulake was in the team !
He was in WC 2011 team !and India won first WC 1983 when no one gave india any chance nor even any one including Indian team ever thought that they will win WC 1983!
Cricket is nonational game but wastage of national time ....only few eight teams play test cricket !
Even in australia it is not No. 1 game or even in England it is no where near to football!
though England won WC of footbal in 1986 and has not been in Finals ever since but soccer is still the most admired game in England and world too!
India will achive more if India gets thru to soccer Football wC ......That is what all Indians dream for ..atleast participate in Soccer World cup and winning it ......

Team consists of every individual. Sachin is a seasoned player who did not have the patience. He could not learn from his past 5 mistakes in this series. His responsibility for the defeat is 50%. Dhoni 40% all others put together 10%.

SRT Marketing Machine (who knows what they said and in what context) and also They are super nice. SRT would not come even a mile closer to Richards. If you are in India as a guest and if SRT marketing pampers you non stop and keeps asking you "what do you think about SRT" [because folks like Haha Bhogle Ravi Shastry made their living with SRT marketing] what decent gentle answer someone would give !! - They would certainly sau "Yeah SRT is the best" . You would soon see all the Aussie bowlers would start chanting "SRT was the most difficult player to bowl" - You would see than in this week - trust me. Because so much of millions are at stake by the SRT sponsors and marketng machine. Thye would jump into it in full swing. Who cares whether India gets thrashed - SRT's 100 is more important than anything else

It is not about India winning one test or series. India already lost when the seniors were not phased out earlier. They should have mentored youngsters first and then once they learn should retire so that these youngsters can take the place of the seniors and be ready to coach the younger ones who are knocking the doors. Now the situation is like entire team has to retire. Sachin and likes because of old age, the youngsters coz they could never shoulder the responsibilities. So we can in the near future have 10 brand new players who never played international cricket plus Sachin. Of course, he is bent on not quitting coz according to him some cricket is still left in him. We would need a centrifugal juicer to extract the meager cricket left in him

Its not appropriate to ridicule any of our senior players as they have brought us lot of joy and pride. But at the same time the anger in emoted by our fans is also justifiable.I would only request the senior players to realise that it would be much better for them to retire on a winning note.i personally feel Tendulkar should have retired after the WC win as it would been an ideal platform.

This has been expected for some time.. its only foolish on part of Dravid, VVS and Sachin to boast that they have favourite venues in Australia.. If you have closely watched the INdians play against England you can easily make out that there are fundamental problems with their techique. That cannot change overnight!
