Gavaskar's views should not fall on deaf earss. BCCI committee is made up of idiots who all seem to have a myopic view. Sachin/Sehwag/Laxman/Dhoni/Dravid are legends and they should be retired gracefully and newer players be introduced. These senior players are just ridiculing themselves on the field..... Yadav/Sharma/Zaheer should be utilised and trained effectively. LEARN FROM THE BRITISH and AUSTRALIANS you silly INDIANS. they way we were wipped in UK and now in Australia makes it eveident that winning the coveted cup in cricket was nothing less then a FLUKE!!!!!
He may be recalling in the 1982-83 pakistan tour when his brother -in-law the Gundappa Vishwanth had to say good bye after disater perfornamance and same way 1979-80 tour of pakistan when the famous spin quartert had to retire when new inexpencrined zaheer abbas , javed miandad has balnked them with loads of runs. Simailarly 91-92 tour of Australia and south africa when all 4 ex-captains like Srikant , vengasrkar, shastri and kapil dev were off-colur and they had to retire except kapil hwho prolonged his career for world record. However Sunny was in form during his retirement phase in 1985-86. Patuadi had to retire in 1976 west indies tour of India after he could not handle pace battery of marshall, garner , roberts and retired hurt many times forcing him for retirement from all forms of cricket. Hence It was happend in the past ...

Mr Yogesh Puranik When Pataudi retired, he had not faced Marshall, Garner etc, since they had not started playing at that time The bowlers who became nightmare to him were A.Roberts,K.Boyce,V.Holder and B.Julien Pls correct ur statement
when u say we need to move on and we shouldnt look beyond seniors and dhoni, it seems a statement from a patient in mental asylum!!!a cricketer of ur stature need not issue this..
bcci is the only forum where both congress and bjp work in unison..members like sharad pawar, rajiv shukla etc from congress, arun jaitley from bjp are hand in glove for the present state of affairs..

and there is also one new rat like fellow from bjp youth wing who is there in bcci ...cant remember his name ..even the the tv panelists have to keep introducing him
why cant we have fast and bouncy pitches in India - atleast 2 or 3 where ranji matches can be played to identify potential. Is there any technical difficulty or is it just lack of will?

World beaters....what you mean. All india could manage was a series draw in OZ 8 years back. Don't get fooled by BCCI. Despite being wonderfully gifted, the team remained under-achievers. have india won a series in SA. all they could manage was a 1-0 in england and WI, may be NZ. Yeah world beaters at home, they remain and will remain.. unless india'n pitches is sporting and the board is not ruled by businessmen and politicians.
this gavaskar is the most selfish cricketer of india..even today, there was no answer to why this chap played slowly against the aus in 1975 WC, when we were set 332 of 60 overs? i IPL had been there during his playing days, he would have grabbed it with two hands..

maaps, this guy always looks for a pound of flesh from our cricket revenues where ever he feels..y cant he take up the responsibility and coach our side? and u are talking about the only century he scored against a depleted kiwi side and any one would have hammered on the typical indian dust bowl..
