Selfish indian
by europeanvacation on Jan 11, 2012 08:47 AM

@TheHawksEye I totally agree with every single word of yours. Indact, it was a slap on every Indian's face, who think that accumulating heaps of runs on flat dead track makes LEGENDS, no - they only make selfish, self-conceited individuals.

He is True

Michael Clarke made an excellent statement after declaring once he reached 329, saying that your 100s are useless if your team is not winning and what a slap was that on Sachin's face ???

Nothing great! He was only copying what Sachin himself has been saying all along!MC can not in his lifetime can come anywhere close to Sachin leave alone slapping him.He made a 300 on a homeground which was not assisting our bowlers. Nevertheless let us give him credit for a triple.

Bantwal not sure whether MC can come closer to Sachin or not but his innings of 329 has put AUS 2-0 in the series!

bantwal: if clarke had the privilege to play most of his career on the dead flat pitches of sub-continent he would have easily crossed tendus records.

Sachin is also saying that 100th 100 is mere number. when he said he want to achieve that only? Media and people are more worried about that.

In some ways thats better.. imagine the hype sorrounding him if we had won a series in Aus.. even if he had not contributed anything the press adn the fans wud hype as if Tendullar single-handedly won us a series in Aus.. without giving others due credit

On the other hand players like Hayden,Langer, gilchrist, ponting,Damien Martyn,Mcgrath etc have defeated every country in their backyard!Australia defeated India in India in 2004-05 by 2-1.

Another bloke to open out to press

Without first delivering! Only when this tendency of one upping stops will the Indian cricket prosper.. such statements are to be made when you are upping the curve not when the performance / results are at the nadir.

Why did not score well in 2nd innings then?
by t xz on Jan 10, 2012 10:54 PM  | Hide replies

How come on the same wicket the Aus were able to take wickets consistently? I am pretty sure that even if India had batted on 2nd and 3rd day they would still have not scored 500. The fact is that India bowling is sub standard and cannot bowl out top quality sides on decent batting wickets. India has conceded 500 plus runs 3 times in last 16 tests while the batsmen crossed 300 2 times in last 16 innings abroad. While bowling has always been India's weak link, India's batting in the past would post big totals and enabled India to draw many games and win some. However recently they have lost that edge in the batting and that should tell the story that the team will not be able to compete consistently well abroad (unless something dramatically changes)
