Batting Failure
by Raghavendra S on Jan 10, 2012 10:13 PM

Why is the media focused on failures of only Dravid and Laxman this series ?? Virat Kohli is a young player but that doesn't mean he is not expected to score. Sehwag, when he plays can win you matches but what's the point in winning 1 out of 10 ? What about Gambhir ?? Dhoni is also expected to make some meaningful contribution with bat. Else, we can try some other wicket keeper batsman as he doesn't seem to be a good test captain.

This mam should be immediately taken into selection panel. She would perhaps teach everyone how to "perform" when you are away from home.

A husband and wife after a very prolonged bitter relationship decided to separate. Here again they fought over custody of their son. The matter went to court. The judge summoned the family and called for the boy.
Judge - Beta will you stay with your mother?
Son - No, Mummy beats me.
Judge - Your father then?
Son - No, Papa beats me.
The Judge was now nonplussed. How was he to solve this. Then he got a brilliant idea and resolved the case.

You know his decision?
............

............

Come on it is not that difficult!!?!

..............

..............

..............

The court ordered the child to stay with the Indian cricket team.

Because..........

THEY DO NOT BEAT ANYBODY.

All are flat track bullies

All indian player are flat track bullies. Specially youngster are pathetic. Ask Virat kohli to play in Bangalore and he will make 100. Can't play outside india. Dhoni, sehwag, gambhir, kohli all can play on falt track. I think gavaskar need to come up with new law "Bowler can bowl only delivery above 140" specially against indian bastman :) Recently I read, batting avg. of Kumble and Bajji is more than Dhoni while playing outside india. And this time Ashwin will have better avg than Dhoni. Dhoni is just plain licky person who done nothing and got all credit. Even in world cup he was failed and we won cup because of Yuvi, Zaheer and Sachin. But credit goes to super cool captain. thats india :) Team was build by Dada (Ganaguly) and dhoni got all fruits. so sad .....

Deepak,

I was a huge Ganguly fan, but you are being unfair to Dhoni.

Yes Dhoni's batting in tests in a concern, however bigger concerns are the batting of the top order, fast bowling, no quality spinners etc.

And no one reaches anywhere near to where Dhoni has reached by only luck. Luck comes into picture when preparation meets opportunity!

Also we would have lost the WC finals without Dhoni's innings.

The problem is too much cricket and less emphasis on test cricket and technique and this is across the team.

Dont be ungrateful. It was Dhoni who won us the world cup. Refresh your memory as it has sadly faded. Dont complement Ganaguly or give him any credit for the team built. It was the budding cricketers like Dravid Laxman and Sehwag and bowlers like zaheer,Kumble Bhaji etc. These quality of players are missing in the new crop and indeed that is a pity. It was Ganguly who was lucky to survive because of the proven old horses. AS Rightly said by Dilip Vengsarkar it was those players who becuase of some brilliant individual performances covered up the shortfall of India's weaknesses. Never was a conscious effort made to improve the quality of players and now that the older war horses seem to be fading every one is trying to pass on the buck. It is unfair to blame Dhoni if one just thinks and analyses for a moment.under his captaincy the team has gelled and has had huge successes over the last couple of years including getting the No 1 rating in tests. And Ganguly what merit does he have as a captain with 3 consecutive failures in IPLs as a captain chucked out of the Indian team and now playing Ranji cricket and still unable to qualify. Shame
