I wonder how much bacon these Kohli types would have shown....
by NashikMarathi on Jan 05, 2012 12:52 AM

if they had to bat in the 70's against the likes of Roberts, Holding, Daniel, Thomson, John Snow etc without helmets, chest guards, arm guards etc. Esp without the helmet.

The crowds at Sabina Park Kingston Jamaica and Aus would of course be baying for blood. What gestures then?

Grow Up Virat
by Shrikar D on Jan 05, 2012 12:05 AM

Having heard some of the obscenities Indian crowds heaped on visting teams like West Indies, it seems to me that the Indians better expect similar treatment when they go abroad. It is Karma my friend. You are better off letting your bat to do the talking (which incidentally is pretty silent at the moment)!

Virat - Play well. That itself is a middle finger
by kumar on Jan 04, 2012 10:59 PM  | Hide replies

Virat - The best way is to play well and scoring runs. That itself is a middle finger to Aussie crowd. Use these as a motivation. Learn from Tendulkar and how he systematically destroys the opposing teams using not mouth but using only bat.

if Virat statement is true, then its serious and the australians yet again prove they have no respect to outsiders.

Why is virat to blame?
by nisha thoas on Jan 04, 2012 10:40 PM  | Hide replies

I dont understand a few people saying virat is abusive and all that. He is an intensely competitive cricketer and we love to see that passion on the field. We would rather see that than someone like laxman, dravid, ashwin etc who show no passion at all, and esp today when nothing went Indias way. And anyway, when the crowd abuses his mother and sis, what is he supposed to do? Any sane human would have reacted much worse, atleast complained to the opposition captain/umpires. To his credit, he just showed the finger and moved on. Its time for some of us to do the same too, and stop making a fuss. Better days for India are surely round the corner.

better days? players like him are showing middle finger to better future. It's simple. esteemed players have to show resilience and sanity. Remember, throwing a stone in dunk will make it splash all over, even on yourself.

So Kallis is not competitive, nor is Sachin or Dravid. If that is the truth, then give me a non competitive cricketer anyday. Laxman may not show any passion but please don't insult him by comparing him to Kohli. Passion dosen't mean insulting your opponents. In case you have seen the last IPL tournament, it is quite clear what Kohli was telling Gambhir during their recent match. You get what you deserve.

I agree with you Nisha , that Virat is a competitive & a very talented crickets. Personally one of my fav & the future of India along with Rohit How ever ,not sure along with the bowling , why is he finding slangs hard to digest. Showing a finger dosent help his game , nor reduce the abuse he wld get . only way to silence is to produce runs & win watch mach 4 india. if shoiwng finger is better days 4 india, india is gng to be in big trouble. grop up kid

it may be true that he loves his mother and sister and that's why he got provoked into this act...but it seems he doesnt appreciate the fact that others too love their sisters and mother and thats why the slang-bc and mc frequently pop out from his mouth-if you would watch him carefully.

Mr Kohli
by UTSAV BANERJEE on Jan 04, 2012 10:40 PM  | Hide replies

Understand who is writing your paycheck, it is the audience, at the stadium and on TV. Do not forget your position is that of an entertainer at the end of the day. We have the right to hurl abuses at you, but you are expected to be oblivious to that and do your job for which we pay you, that is to play cricket. These people think they have become larger than life when in actuality they are serving our needs for sporting action just like the clowns in wrestling.

Attitude problem
by sameer bhagwat on Jan 04, 2012 10:32 PM

Thats the problem with the new players. Plays one match winning innings in IPL and they think of themselves as the next big thing. Specially Kohli. He always had an attitude problem but it got masked due to good performance in ODIs. But test cricket is another cup of tea. Rohit Sharma looks a far better player. Even he got influenced by Yuvraj, Bhajji at one time but seems to have corrected himself. Hope he gets a chance in the next test.

This was always on the cards... Kohli is such a bad-mouthed shnook that his fav words are BC and MC. I just loved KP's tweet... I would like to add a little more to KP's words.. "Its pay back time, kid..!!"
