DID HE FAIL IN IN THE 1ST TEST AGAINST AUSTRALIA? HE WAS THE TOP SCORER AMONG THE INDIANS. SO STILL AT THIS AGE HE IS THE MOST RELIED BATSMAN. THATS WHY HE IS THE GREAT.

So whatever happend to your match winners Dravid and Laxman in the 1st test? Pal, first learn to appreciate cricket as a team game. It is just because SRT happend to have played 180 plus tests, everybody looks upto him and talk about him always. It is not his fault alone when you have a 7 batsmen lineup and 6 of them fail. So stop throwing stones at SRT. Even he needs somebody ahead of him to score reasonably well to play with less pressure. Under pressure everybody will make mistakes. Look at ever reliabe Kallis in the 2nd test against SL. A pair is what he could get. In the 1st match, Amla was not scoring anything significant. So just appreciate the game as it is rather than just bulldozing on an individual.

Right now the Dhoni team is busy displaying that they can lose "despite" having Sachin as well as Rahul in the team. :-)

So much so for your cricketGyan. ;-)

Kind of players we got..
by Muhammed on Jan 02, 2012 02:21 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni must understand that there has to be some difference in result, when a minnow is playing against Mighty England, and when India is playing against England. But fact is India lost like a Minnow, so Tendulkar's, dravid's, Dhoni's etc can not perform in challenging conditions and forget winning, they are not even capable of SAVING Test match.. Most importantly Shamelessness is an attribute associated with these players, as even after knowing they can not perform they continue to play

players under pressure
by veerapuram dharan on Jan 02, 2012 02:16 PM

the ageing trio would be the ones under tremendous pressure to perform..if they dont contribute meaningfully, then its as good as curtains for them after this series..even mahi would be asked to step down..sp keeping this in mind, they will pull india out of misery..

Our practice is not up to the expectations we are talking in air
by pravin sarode on Jan 02, 2012 02:13 PM

Happy New Year Every Circket Crazy Indians i am surprised that Dhoni is making such non sence statement he must slog rather practice like he practiced in NEW ZEALAND. Our Indian players are not at all concentrating of TEST cricket or say latest DIGITAL CAMERA techniques where all opposition players what your mistakes dissmissals on TV action replay in all previous matches in this reference India Tour of England is best example how clever Britishers exploited indians despite of bowlers hard work now indians must learn how to play test version of game first then take press conference to keep mouth shut is the need of hour what is required is hard work not hard talk

R ASHWIN MUST AIM FOR 5-WICKETS HAUL IN AN INNINGS
by damodaran mohan on Jan 02, 2012 01:36 PM  | Hide replies

That is the spirit. Indians are supposed to be a champion side and it is only proper that they fight back w/o giving up tamely. First match on overseas tour can always be tricky. A good team like India is expected to quickly learns from the mistakes and bounce back. For that to happen, India must work strategically on the following aspects;
1.The Aussies looked charged up with lot of aggression. Indians on the other hand looked very subdued. So, Indians must change gear and up the intensity to match those of the aussies.
2.Sehwag is a Lottery any way. Team India should learn to take cheap dismissal of Sehwag normally w/o getting demoralized.
3. At least two out of the Big three must click in batting in an innings and they should show better application.
4.Bowlers are doing well but they must strategize to mop up the aussie tail quickly. May be captain Dhoni has to have plan B,C...etc. to snap the tail before it wags for long.
5.R.Ashwin is bowling well but taking 1-2 wickets not good enough. He must aim for 5-wickets haul. Look how Herath won the 2nd Test for SL against SA.
ALL THE BEST & HAPPY NEW YEAR

Damodaran, 1~3 ok.
4. Field set by our captain was hopelessly defensive. It nullified all the bowling efforts.
5. Ashwin has started well on Aussie soil, give him some time to be a match winner.
