over the years we have been watching Indian team play overseas. But still we expect them to win! strange is it not?
At then end of every match media says Indian team is not good in foreign soil .. then comes a series in India..kings!!.. the next overseas match we want our team to win.. foolish dont you agree?

over rated batting....
by Arijit Sikdar on Jan 01, 2012 11:37 PM

we are now concerned about no. 6. what about nos. 1 to 5. if they cant do then what can no. 6 do. lets also be realistic. if u look at batting line up from no. 7 to 11 they do not contribute as much as no. 7 to 11 of other teams (see the contribution of no. 7 to 11 on the tests). so everything for india depends on no. 1 to 5. moreover if you look at india's par score in last 10-15 tests india has been doing around 300, even against weak opposition like west indies. its only on placid indian tracks the bating shines giving a false promise. i consider india is good for one day cricket where they score around 300, good enough to win but not good enough in tests.

so i think there is very little possibility of india pulling of something extraordinary in this tour. so let us be happy with sachin's 100th 100 as that is what most of india wants. indian fans, media, bcci does not care about whether india wins or not.

and this attitude of glorifying individual performance has seeped into our national psyche that we do not deserve to win as a team.

pujara or badrinath
by v s on Jan 01, 2012 11:08 PM

WE should consider pujara or badri for this slot.
These 2 folks should not play one day/20-20 and spoil their technique.

overrated team
by pup on Jan 01, 2012 10:14 PM

india is a overrated batting line up...in england when they lost 4-0 they blamed it on fatigue, injury and lack of preparation etc...now they are all fit, full strength tram and they have had enough practise on th etour...and yet they are losing...just shows the reality of the overhyped indian team and its "great batsmen"

3 Players
by RAKESH NAIR on Jan 01, 2012 09:03 PM  | Hide replies

Its Extremely Important to give "Chances" to "Virat" or 'Rohit" or".." for "Overseas" Matches.
Becoz "Sachin","Dravid","Laxman" will go 1 day & "India" have to "Suffer" as we r "Consistently" Losing matches inspite of These "3" in the side.
"Team India" should ask "Sachin" to "Groom" players for the "Future" while they are actually on the field & dont think abt "Personal Records".
I "strongly" feel "Sachin" was given "more due" by "Our country" than he gave back may be due to his "Humbleness" or "Commitment"......
Iam a gr8 fan of "Sachin" for past 20 yrs but decisions should be taken in the "Interest" of the "nation"...

Re: 3 Players

International cricket is no place for 'Grooming', it's of competition. if anybody can replace sachin by his current form, then sachin should be replaced. Talks abt future are so stupid. if the youngs can't earn it, then they don't deserve it. If a 22 year Kohli or Rohit is not better than 38 yr sachin, why should they get a place? Regarding, wht he has got 4m the nation and gave back to the nation, u should remember he has lost much in that process also. He has no private life, can't live freely, nor can he roam like a common man. And, he has always carried the hopes of people of india, and quite GRACIOUSLY. Compare his attitude with other players like ponting, lara, etc.
