What Koli and others did is great. But, dont glorify it and forget about the objective which is to bein the finals and beat australia.

dont look at it as just a win, look at the pressure and fact that 36.5 overs and 321 runs thats not a mean achievement. How many matches in history has shown that kind of score?

Half-way through the 2nd innings of the ODI between India and Sri Lanka on 28th February 2012, one could sense the catharasis. Here was a team, both battle-weary and cricket-weary, struggling to keep itself afloat when all was lost and believed to be lost. As is the vaunt of the great batting lineup, Tendulkar and Sehwag, if but briefly, rolled back some years and went about clouting the Lankan bowling like men whose only mission was the enjoyment of freedom that had just been bestowed on them. All along the wretched tour down under, they couldnt put bat on ball or bowl to the set fields. And in that chilly day in Hobart whenever they pulled from the hat, out came a hare. An hare basking in freedom! Everyone remembers the Indian team of the 1985 B&H Cup. They won the tournament and captivated the Aussie spectators through sheer enjoyment of the cricket game. It was instantly likeable in the age of super-efficiency and ruthlessness.
The openers understood the cold arithmetic of making 320 in 40 overs, made that into a principle for existence, stood by it and passed on the baton to the youngsters. I think a case has been made out for retaining some of the seniors in the team than starting to swing the axe. If India do play Australia in the finals, the host team better watch out! India can go on and repeat the 2008 tournament that was in many ways the catharasis for the generation-enlivening night in April 2011.

Dude! Srikkanth was technically chanllenged - he was just stand and deliver batsman like Gayle/Sehwag. Kohli is technically more suited to play on any wicket - only thing he has to do is cut out the closing the face of bat too early in his innings to play beind sq leg - he needs to keep playing in front of wicket - same thing with GG also. He got out so many times opening the face instead of playing in front of wicket

Kohli is 1000 times technically superior to Srikkanth. The later was technically incompetent to say the least.. but was fortunate to carry on with the wind in the early days of one day cricket...

Last one year from SA tour -Indians performance has been pathetic ,no doubt .It is the times with corruption and crime being rampant with elected leader and every step and every walk of life has been corrupted -so it is natural BCCI led by politicans -we can expect anything but not giving credit to the stupendous performace is wrong . Yes ! if were Australian -I would make an honest assesment of playing Sri Lanka or India and assess Aussies chances of winning .In this case it is India against whom Aussies have better chance of winning .We will not have Indian Pitches for Finals - so it makes sense to wi n against Ari Lanka .Well the calculations will not miss the Aussies.
