today a youngster can dream of debut only when some one is unfit
by jeevan on Mar 02, 2012 07:23 PM

He cannot get into a team, because somebody is dropped and not performing like the case of Forrest coming in the place of Ponting in Australia. Thats very sad..

selection of team

shuod be purely based on performance like australia. Taxpayers money should not be wasted &no player should take his selection for granted. Can selectors not be more honest in doing the job rather than fooling the commonsense of public who closely follow the game from sportsmanship angle?

Watching Cricket does not take any tax...also australia has bench strength of youth like forrest and wade who perform when given chances and not like raina, jadeja, ashwin and rohit who hide demselves behind seniors..

I think this talented all rounder would be a suitable replacement for the master(sachin) once he retires

Pathetic
by Ravindra Hegde on Mar 01, 2012 10:40 AM

It is absolutely pathetic on the part of we Indians to cheer Individual performance in sports where the sport is a team game. Players with past performance are persisted even if they are past their sell by date. The whole collective mindset is one of living in past glory. If a sporting team has to be built then the selector needs to persist with young blood. A failure from them can be expected in the short run but may be rewarding in future.
