Forget the losers(Cricketers), Welcome to Winners(Hockey)
by S Shrikanth on Feb 27, 2012 07:22 AM  | Hide replies

Ace drag-flicker Sandeep Singh slammed five goals, including a hat-trick, as India qualified for the London Olympics men's hockey, after missing out on the 2008 edition, by spanking France 8-1 in the final of the qualification tournament in New Delhi on Sunday.

You will welcome them until they are trashed by other teams. Then say, hockey can never improve!! Be a lover of sports, not the winning team :-)

Raina
by kush chatterjee on Feb 27, 2012 07:17 AM

Why is Suresh Raina being persisted with in spite of repeated failures throughout the series? Is it cause he plays for Chennai Super Kings?

There is serious conflict of interest in the fact that Chennai Super Kings owner is also the president of BCCI. BCCI should either be turned into a corporate or should be nationalized. Else national interests will suffer in the hands of such unscrupulous individuals.

Sack Duncan Fletcher

Sack Duncan Fletcher!!He is behind all the ills that are plaguing Indian Cricket at the moment. He is not able to motivate the Team in the manner that Gary used to do.He seems to be a reactive guy who responds to situations rather being proactive and preparing for urgencies before hand. This bunch of guys had done wonders under Gary but now they are failing as a unit.Bring Back Gary.

No use dumping players
by Nanappan Pillai on Feb 26, 2012 10:07 PM  | Hide replies

The Asia cup is being played in Bangladesh.

Can we drop Sehwag? Ok even of he is a flat track bully what is the main objective? win for india right?
What about raina, jadeja and the like?
They will all play well in the sub continent.

Only question remaining is that should we give a chance to other players like tiwari, pujara etc.

The yno doubt would fail in Australian/English conditions.

BCCI should wake up at least now and create sporty pitches so that we have the ability to win abroad.

just dont understand what you all people mean by sporty pitches.
India did not do well against England and australia the last 2 series, but india is the only country that hs challenged auatralia in australia if you look at teh previous 2 series.
India came triumpent against england in england in hte series before.
And the players were very much the same whom you are saying cannot play on htese so called sporty pitches.

Now look the record of Australia and England in India, it is just no good. but these people dont talk about changing their pitches to spinning tracks.

"Last 2 series" when we did well in England/Australia was way back in 2003/04 and 2007/08. Dont u think the players have changed since then?
