Only indians can do such cheap and unsportsmanly stuff. Not surprising that it has been named after an indian.

i think it is sheer hypocrisy not to run out a batsman who is out of his crease.

I do not think there is anything wrong if a bowler whips of the bails after warning the batsman once, since the batsman is trying to take advantage of an extra yard by leaving his crease even before the ball is delivered. As such, it is all fair and square.

exactly. Ashwin had warned tirimanne, and then tirimanne repeated the offence and ashwin took the bails off, but thanks to i dio t senior cricketers in our team they did 'spirit of game'

Sachin's all round(zero) performance
by Rosy Monty on Feb 25, 2012 11:50 AM  | Hide replies

I don't know why Sachin came to the rescue for a Srilankan? Neither he scores nor he leaves(reitres), oflate he ensures India's defeat everytime now.

You are absolutely right. It's high time he realized that he is not being useful to the team either as a batsman or a bowler for quite some time now. So before he is dropped for good, he should retire gracefully so that a deserving younger player gets the golden chance to play for the country.

Before this series sachin is scoring good runs. Just one series failure doesn't mind he will bounce back in next series

BAAD

yes, ur right, sehwag and sachin want behaved like a bollywood saga sacrifying 'big brother'.
Who ever the player must, stick to the rules of the game. Batsman was wrong and he should punished. My suggestion is try to win matches and cups not, sportsmanship awards. (Like dhoni did last year, and he got sportsmanship award immediately). We donot want that kind. We want winning.
And about lankans, they never had a spirit of game. Mahela so utterly behaved in supporting his batsmen. They are scrap of this gentleman game. (remember or not, what sangakkara did at the time of toss in finals of 2011 worldcup, he tried to manupulate and suffered the loss ultimately?

Behave like a gentleman on your part, Lankans.
And indians too, play just cricket and let us feel happy. We are leaving and bearing lot of cost in watching and spending on cricket.

Why to with draw a valid appeal,
was sehwag that much deliberate to loose.
or he want a place in history as one of the generous captains who allowed a run out batsman to play again at the cost of a win.

Sehwag and Sachin were trying to show that they are very kind at heart by withdrawing the appeal. If at all it is to be withdrawn only Ashwin should have taken the decision as it was he who appealed. The player should have been punished for his wrongdoing. It is easy to score a single if such running is allowed. These seniors even though they help very little for the home team to win the match, are very much anxious to help the opponents to win it by their magnanimity on the field.

why unfair?
by Madan Mohan on Feb 24, 2012 06:00 PM  | Hide replies

it could b so had Indian's stuck to their appeal.
It was unfair on part of SL.. that the batsman was so arrogant that inspite of this incident he still kept crossing crease before ball is delivered.
Mahela's response in this matter was worst.. he can support his batsman, but for than he doesn't need to show opposition in poor light. Irony is that Indian's withdrew their appeal, still SL captain & player were incapable of showing truesportsman-spirit, and bent on disrespecting opposition.
