Player Selection
by rakesh joshi on Feb 23, 2012 10:39 AM

At the time of selection for Aus. Tour decision on players(slow or fast) should have been taken. It is not correct to raise this issue in the middle of the tour.

Dhoni trying to hide its incompetitiveness
by parag jain on Feb 23, 2012 10:36 AM

Has anyone wondered that Dhoni has not scored considerably in the last 1.5 years.. also there were lot of statements against dhoni quitting as captain from all the three formats of the game.....its just pure politics and Dhoni is trying to hide or i must divert other attention towards Sachin & Sehwag instead of realising his own incompetency

Dhoni - Worst keeper
by atul shakti on Feb 23, 2012 10:20 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni should first look at his wicket keeping before commenting on others fielding. He is the worst wicket keeper in contemporary cricket.

he might be the worst keeper, but what he has said is absolutely right.
playing sehwag and sachin serves no purpose as they r not the future of India.

REDIFF waste time with MASALA
by rama anne on Feb 23, 2012 10:14 AM

WHY no one is discussing how
----
INDIA VS SRILANKA - MATCH TIED points shared
----
two games at GABBA
---
both GAMES opposition(Aussies and Sri Lankans ) scored 288/6 and 289/5 against INDIA

especially during last 6 overs AUSSIES scored 70 runs plus @11 runs per over

Also INDIA was bowled out in 46th OVER against SRI LANKA
while against Aussies too India was all out and lost with a huge margin 110 runs plus

-----
while in the test series we lost due to

Bouncy Track plus SWING plus PACE and pitched up at waist height ON and OFF stump

Aussies repeated the same dose as TEST at GABA to make sure they secure a WIN
as usual INDIA lost trying to play UPPISH cut against raising deleveries
---
As far as SRI LANKA ,they struck to the GAME PLAN and bowled some tight length ,around ON and OFF and did not allow any room to play of the BACK FOOT
result INDIAN batsmen got undone except KOHLI

but what is astonishing is after Raina and KOHLI put on 86 runs partnership ,ASHWIN ,Parthiv and Ravindra Jadeja lacked application in batting and gave up the chase

result - INDIA bowled out in 46th OVER

so focus why we lost and rectify and see atleast INDIA can stay alive in the series instead of focusssing on
Sachins retirement etc ,Sachin is capable of bouncing back and can rectify himself

question is will INDIAN team rectify BOWLING and other issues as a UNIT and can DHONI be more innovative with captaincy ?

that is what we must focus on
no

Generation to Generation shift occurs

Utter Rubbish and nonsense
---
Iam a true Indian cricket Fan
both Shehwag and Tendulkar are very good fielders .
Sachin can field at the boundary rope (Long on and Long off ) as well as SLIP cordon
Sachin and Shehwag both took some good catches at those positions

Among the younger lot
Yuvraj
Raina
Kohli
Md Kaif
are good fielders as well

But we must remember that Sachin made his debut along side Kapil ,prabhakar and Azhar etc

so that time Indian cricket Coaching ,outlook are different

likewise in those Days ,other international teams tooo differed
these days all International teams have trained a lot ,especially Aussies and South Africans set up some high standards

Sri Lankans also seems to be catching up with fielding on the field

I feel very bad and feel like in tears for SACHIN
----
it is a shame ,that some Indians are not giving respect to the greatest Batsman India has ever produced

SACINs rise from 1991 is also INDIAN ECONOMIC Rise

SACHIN is INDIA
INDIA is SACHIN

folks
------
last time around when INDIA ,SRI LANKA ,AUSTRALIA played CB series

SACHIN scored two back to back 80 plus scores
FINAL 1 AND FINAL2 -

result we won CB SERIES trophy at the same GABBA

Tendulkar should quit ODIs, Sehwag should be axed
by Ravi Iyer on Feb 23, 2012 05:32 AM  | Hide replies

and made to play domestic cricket.
Gautam as opener is very good and should play. In fact, he can be the next captain if India fails to make it to the CB finals.
The other opener could be Uthappa or Rahane. Not sure if Rohit or Manoj can fit into that role. They can be tried.
Kohli, Sharma, Raina and Dhoni (he's a good batsman in ODIs, captaincy or otherwise) would be 3-6. Pujara, Tiwary as options.
Jadeja, I Pathan, Y Pathan and Ashwin should share #7 and #8. Zak should be 9. Vinay, Praveen, Aaron and Yadav should take the last 2 positions.

Tendulkar,Sahwag too slow for ODIs....
by parshuram gautampurkar on Feb 22, 2012 05:49 PM  | Hide replies

It`s rather ridiculous to pass through such of the compromising situation, even when there is a question of nation`s prestige. When both -Tendulkar and Sahwag are not performing well and their persistent failure is bringing bad name to the country, why the captain should not raise his voice asking the selector to drop them forthwith and replace them with some other deserving and performance showing players.
Atleast now Dhoni should frankly/unhesistatingly ask the ICC selectors to do needful and select those only who can do well to regain our position - number one in the world cricket which we had proved in recent world cup 2011. We must also adopt the policy - perform or perish .

So which youngster except Kohli has brought fame to the nation since WI series last year? They got plenty of opportunity.

@Hi
Sachin did not fail on this tour
Sachin does not look rusty
Sachin also is not out of form
----
he seems to withdraw or play tentatively and getting out

so just let us respect Sachin and he deserves his time

Every batsmen has his phases and that includes all great cricketers

----
also in this CB series India lost two consecutive games plus tied one game
all due to BOWLING and allowing opposition to make 288 and 289 scores as well

I really feel that sachin needs his time. He will let us know when he is ready to retire.
I just hope he retires before his son retires from the team :)

Sachin for Bharat Ratna
by LOL on Feb 22, 2012 05:46 PM  | Hide replies

I think we should give the coveted award to Sachin for his enormous contributions especially in tight situations and particularly in the England and Aussies Series. His great batting abilities have helped India lose respectfully and get mildly white washed, otherwise we would have lost so badly...
