Sachin should have announced his retirement when Dhoni gave a statement that Sachin is slow on the field. Its useless when ur captain dont want then why do you want to play ?

Like Ponting, should Sachin quit?

What should be the main objective of Indian ODI cricket? If it is to give Sachin a chance to notch up his 100th 100, please arrange a series with Kenya or BD. If it is to successfully retain the World Cup, start putting the pieces for the next WC. If Bradman were Indian, he would have kept playing in the hope of getting his average to 100. Sri Lanka with 1/60th of your population is where it is today because men like Ranatunga ensured the game is opened to the whole country. A guy like Chandimal is from a small village, Balapitiya. BCCI is obsessed with making for its officials via IPL not in unearthing the next Dhoni or developing the infrastructure. The media and the public have a constructive role instead of jumping on bandwagons. Identify your objective and build for the future.

There has to be an objective in one playing for the country.
Sachin has won a world cup, he has performed well, his stats are good, financially he is well off. I do not know what else does he want to acheive in 1 day and T-20. I cant understand his motivation to stick to these formats.
Better to give chances to others.

although its not the time for his retirtement, we enjoy the batting of this master more than anyone else in the world, but he should slap everyone and say goodbye, but before that he should fulfill the dream of every india, by making one last century...

Yes, take whatever time you require for that. You can also retire after 2019 world cup.

No question about Sachin's bating and contribution, we always count 100's and run but winning number ? Now that number game dividing team and BCCI. Sachin know very Mumbai and west media and add market will back him as Mr. Madanlal told Mr. Srinivasan back Mr. Dhoni the way he protecting Mr. Sahbag is enjoying this game also like batting master stroke.
