VIV RICHARDS is the greatest batsman after DON BRADMAN way way ahead than the tendulkars & gavaskars of this world. he always played for the team cared a foot for individual records & even many times clive lloyd declared when Richards was unbeaten & approaching century.

Its a wrong comparison

Everyone is comparing Shastri and Tendulkar. There is no comparison between the two.

If any, Tendulkar needs to be compared with Kapil Dev. When Kapil was retiring he went thru' similar phase. He was getting smacked around and lost lot of steam in his final days. People started to feel the Kapil's baggage. He still hung around for a while and finally gave up. Even though the retirement came about tad bit late, in the end it played itself out just fine. Kapil today is remembered for great contribution and he did good to preserve his legacy.

Tendulkar on the other hand is self destroying himself. No one except Tendulkar knows what he really wants. You can only speculate, but it is unclear why he is hanging around for such a long time. By doing this he is risking the great reputation he has built over the years. Tendulkar shouldn't wait till it becomes so bad that he is going to be remembered for his ugly final phase of his career. Tendulkar knows his best days are history. If he has little bit of champion that he has been all these years left in him, he should go right now. He clearly knows he is not helping the team

Shastri is correct to 'forget the milestone' like he (Shastri himself) did when he scored his 100th ton.

It has been 29 innings since that glorious 99th international hundred which Tendulkar smashed against South Africa in the 2011 World Cup. 12 March was the date when that ton arrived and Sachin fans have been waiting ever since for the lusive 100th.

What on earth, you are saying

Sachin's place in the team should be reviewed. You need to give chances to youngsters like Manoj Tiwary and Ajay to prove their worth. The best advice Shastri should give it to Sachin is to retire from all forms of cricket. It will benefit the Indian Team
