Shastri urges Tendulkar to 'forget the milestone
by kalyan krishnan on Feb 19, 2012 07:58 PM

For Shastri and Gavaskar, Tendulkar should play all the matches even if continues to score single digit till he gets his 100th century. They are more interested in Tendulkar's milestone than building up a team for the future. And these gentlemen call themselves experts. An expert should be totally unbiased.

who hv been bashing sachin for a long time by writing that he wl score 100 vs bangladesh, ok, if he ds that against BD, we wl see hw many others (remaining 6 specialist batsman) wl score century in that match ?

in history of 135 years of cricket no one reached 99 centuries, only ONE INDIAN - SACHIN REACHED THERE, in coming 135 years no one wl reach there, ONLY ONE INDIAN wl remain there, - SACHIN TENDULKAR.

now porkIE$ in disguise of Indians may cm n criticize my comments :)

yes only one. even 99 centuries also, only one man. So is that not enough? How much can one be greedy for a record at the cost of a nation? Typical Indian mentality.

I agree as of now there is no one who can claim that they are exceptional, for that matter even Sachin. If that be the case, then I perfer to go with youngsters as they have a chance to blossom in future creating more tendulkars, dravids and laxmans rather than hanging on to those fading ones.
Dravid and Laxman took some years to blossom. We never gave any youngsters that much leeway. Only now we began it in ODIs. Tests, we are yet to do. Pujara, Rahane, Rayudu etc .there are a few who given some chances and tried for few months may become the future great. Imagine in your office if some oldie stays for long doing unproductive work, just for the sake of salary (without retiring in private org), won't his subordinates feel demotivated?

i mentioned those three for tests. As I said ODIs have been taken care of and those include the flopped people (in this series) you mentioned. I would still persist with them for few years to let them learn.

sonu is another fan gone mad by his G ---0---D's repeated failures. if any intl cricketer is allowed to play cricket for 22 years & still not dropped for a string of poor performances he will not score 99 100s , he will score 150 100s. mr sonu alias fake indian. u shuld be ashamed of urself. UR also a porki who can not accept a genuine criticism.

IF... :-)

IF Glenn McGrath played for 2576 innings he would have scored more than Dhoni. Ciz Dhoni can clearly NOT play for even 576 innings. :-)

You definitely can work wonders with your bat.Forget the 100 and the critics. Be a mentor to the younger players and play carefree and Bindass. Even now you have got class and style. Just be your self....

ICC
by solid singh on Feb 19, 2012 07:33 PM  | Hide replies

Finally ICC is convinced that Sachin’s greatness deserves the recognition as the best batsman in the world & a very special consideration.

As a very special gesture , it has been made mandatory that whenever Sachin is on strike, there will only one stump , bowlers will not be allowed to send bouncers , Yorkers or swinging deliveries. Also there will no slip fielders. Further it will be left to the Greatest himself to declare himself out as & when he wants during the innings in tests ,odi , t20.

The above rule comes into effect immediately & will remain applicable as long as Sachin is able to hold the bat.

Hey, Bangladesh will be a cricket power by then, maan. It will be against some obscure tiny little country like Botswana or Gambia or Krygyzstan, which will be given test/ODI status merely to let Fachin play the kids to get his ton and be done with it once and for all.

It was not against Bangladesh, yaar. He had an average 7.55 runs in the 3 test series in Bangladesh in which they beat us 3-0 the previous year. This century was against Papua New Guinea, the latest entrant into the league of Test Playing nations ... now numbering 40.

It is to be remembered that after the split in the cricketing fraternity in 2015, only India, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe play Test cricket out of the original lot. Australia, England, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, West Indies and New Zealand play under a separate international council called ICC which had broken away after getting fed up with the BCCI.
