got to recognize his accomplishments not his pace ..

Poor guy is facing the wrath of his critics. Agreed he got smashed by David Warner and Co. in his only test in Australia. The fact is that the other bowlers got smashed too. If Vinay had one bad outing; warner too had 1 good outing). Vinay may not be adequately equipped for longer version of the game; however he is doing better than the rest of the Indian ODI pace attack. His detractors feel that he does not have the pace but who cares... Pace is not the only parameter to measure a bowler. Even the great mcgrath was not known for his pace but other nuances of his bowling.

By no stretch of imagination he can be compared to a Mcgrath, Akram ... The focus is on giving the guy a fair chance (like Raina, Rohit or Yusuf) to prove his worth. In the meantime there are enough cricketers in the Indian side whose talent can be scrutinized.

True.... Ishant is such a waste to the team. He was slammed for 424 runs in 6 innings @ avg of 106. He is left alone while poor chaps like Unadkat, Vinay Kumar, etc are targeted for failing in 1 or 2 matches.

Ponting

As an indian fan, i am so glad ponting is still around. He is bad omen for australia, only warne mcgrath and gilly could reverse his bad influence.
As soon sa he becomes captain look what happened, sri lanka got a bonus point. I hope australia make him captain one more time

Waste Fellows in this team whose poor performance is covered up under some better performance of others :
1. Ravi Jadeja : 58 runsfrom 4 matches at an average of 19 and 1 wkt @ 190 runs with an economy of 6 R.P.O
2. S.K. Raina : 74 runs @ 18.5
3. R.G. Sharma : 79 runs from 4 matches @ 19 runs average
4. V. Sehwag : 30 from 2 @ 15
5. SRT : 65 from 3 @ 21.6
6. Praveen Kumar : No wickets yet

Why are we still playing these people in spite of their repeated failures? Haven't we learnt any lesson from the test matches? What are we doing with the Tiwary's, Rahanes and Pathans? Wake up selectors and the team management! Dump and discard the non performers please....

I agree. The media also has been very unkind to the likes of Vinay Kumar, perhaps due to his humble background. Ravindra Jadeja is a bits and pieces cricketer and his bowling in pitches outside sub-continent is suspect. Lot was told about Dravid and Laxman's failure in Australia and media was quick to forget his superhuman effort at England.Raina's weakness against short pitched deliveries is exploited even by bowlers of gentle medium pace and Rohit Sharma has failed consistently abroad. Why has the media kept quiet now?

Now here again we are praising someone for just doing well in few matches... it will be good if he continues it for a longer run.. but you guys know our bowlers.. Sunshine for few days.. the same bowlers will get hit for many runs and than evryone will criticize him.. we need bowlers on whom we can depend, who play a very important role in test matches.. Still not clear...
